Philosophically, I don't believe we have a choice. God must be real.

That is an excellent question, Dan. For me, it took really diving into reading the Bible and finding a church that is alive. When I was a child, my family attended a boring, dead church so I can't say that I knew God well although even then I believed in God.
If you are in a church which sincerely worships God, it does help the process of finding God. I currently attend Meadowbrook Church in Ocala, Florida where we go there to worship God. Not to wear pretty Sunday clothes or be seen, but to truly worship God in whatever you have to wear.
My arms will raise to worship God and water will flow from my eyes I feel God's presence so sincerely. It's not even something human's have words to explain but the person who experiences God knows it is God.
You feel it deep within your soul/spirit that's why it's hard to explain and I suppose it takes faith to some degree but once you feel it 1 time, you never forget it and you can never wonder or deny that God is real.
I just have to add this because I along with others sometimes wonder about the sincerity of various christian shows. I don't know about the show itself but years ago when I was asking the question you are asking I called CBN and a femlae prayer partner prayed with me and even through the phone or through our spirits, I felt God move inside me. I will never forget that either and that's one of the many ways I felt God's presence earlier in my relationship with God.

Nobody can prove any gods, much less a specific god, exist; many people will tell you their god exists but no others, but will never be able to prove it, even if they think so. Some will threaten you with eternal pain or promise eternal joy to get you to believe in their god; these are all stories, created for people who were scared long before we understood the universe. Now we have no more reason for these superstitions.

What's the origin of the Jesus stories?

People who tell you they can prove their god is real are mistaken or lying.
The "argument from personal experience" doesn't work; if it did, it would be "proof" that thousands of gods existed.

I know that god is real because the Holy Ghost bore witness to me and knowledge of the truthfulness of the gospel.
James 1:5
"And if any of you lack wisdom, let them ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally and abraidith not, and it shall be given him, But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering, For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed"

I was guided and amongst all I chose Islam. I have seen the miracles of God in many things, and I don't need proof to back it up. Religion is based on faith, not science.

I get up every morning. I don't have to prove he is real to anyone. You either believe he exist and if you do,no one can prove to you he doesn't. If you don't believe he exist no one can make you believe. But neither can they prove he doesn't exist just because they say so.

Because He changed my life.
He lives within my heart by His Holy Spirit.
He reveals His Love to me daily.
He helps me to help others.
He helps me to be an overcomer when the pressures of life are overwhelming.
Need I go on?
He is REAL to *me*, that is how I know He is real.
