Mysticism is the study of that which is beyond the physical, seeing the spiritual cause behind what is going on in your life and the world around you.
Mystics look within and without to find the spiritual truth, find God, gain wisdom, and understanding to transcend the world around them so they will be able to live in union with God. This is done through meditation, prayer and other ways to achieve transcendence and Ecstasy.

Mysticism is always embodied in a teaching, often in the form of a gnosticism - a secret knowledge - which is invariably self-aggrandizing.

To me, in plain words, mysticism is the direct experiencing of 'God' and of the Divine...it is how I came to believe that there is a 'God'...

A Spiritual or Religious significance beyond human understanding. There is a lot in this realm that we will never understand. The true to me is that when we die we will know God.
