Usually it means a marriage or relationship between a believer and nonbeliever. It can also apply to 2 people with unequal degrees of belief. My former husband would have said he was a believer, but he was less committed to his faith than I, and it created problems. He resented my level of commitment, expecting me to sacrifice the things that were important to me...the things that made me who I was.

This is a spiritual term. It means that if a Catholic married a Jewish person, they are unequally yoked. In old days oxen were yoked together with a yoke to plow a field, they were equal in their walking.
In the Bible it says to not be unevenly yoked so of whatever faith a person is, they should not marry outside their own faith. Too many problems arise then they do. Like what religion will the children be raised as?
A marriage is stronger when both husband and wife are of the same faith. I've been there myself and it's no bowl of cherries. We are now Jehovah's Witnesses and life is better when God is in a marriage.

2 Corinthians 6:14
"Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?"

It is to be in a relationship with an unbeliever. Christians are to marry Christians; they are not to marry someone that does not believe in the same God and Son that you do.
It is not to mix light with darkness.

It means to be together with someone who believes way different than you do. Scripture is pretty clear on this.....especially within the marriage bond

It means that two oxen should be relatively the same size or one will pull harder than the other and the duo will go in circles.
