Or is it 6,000 years as the Bible says? Or could both be right? Could the universe be both 16 billion years old and 6,000 years old at the same time? Time is not only affected by gravity and volocity, but time could be percieved differently from different points. Think of the universe as expanding. Going back 6,000 years ago, the universe would have been smaller. The Bible looks at Creation from the beginning, looking forward. Scientists today look at the universe looking backwards. As the universe expanded, time would have been stretched out, taking a longer time to go from point A to point B on an expanded universe than it would have taken on a smaller universe. Also, the flow of time is different in different situations. For instance, time on the sun would pass by slower than time on earth because of the increased gravity on the sun.
Is it possible that both science and the Bible are right, and 16 billion years and 6,000 years are the same?
