Or is it 6,000 years as the Bible says? Or could both be right? Could the universe be both 16 billion years old and 6,000 years old at the same time? Time is not only affected by gravity and volocity, but time could be percieved differently from different points. Think of the universe as expanding. Going back 6,000 years ago, the universe would have been smaller. The Bible looks at Creation from the beginning, looking forward. Scientists today look at the universe looking backwards. As the universe expanded, time would have been stretched out, taking a longer time to go from point A to point B on an expanded universe than it would have taken on a smaller universe. Also, the flow of time is different in different situations. For instance, time on the sun would pass by slower than time on earth because of the increased gravity on the sun.
Is it possible that both science and the Bible are right, and 16 billion years and 6,000 years are the same?

I should have stated this before......Albert Einstein said that gravity affects the flow of time. The greater the gravity, the slower time passes.

Reject..........an appropiate name. Gravity does affect the flux of time. Especially around a black hole. As light comes close to a black hole, the gravity can neutralize the speed of the light, causing the light to go into orbit around the black hole. At the point, the flux of time has stopped, and the space-time continuum has ended.

"Time is not only affected by gravity and volocity,"
tsk tsk.
no, gravity doesnt affect time. lol. idiot.
oh wait it does... well no. because it can only be one time. plus you would need like an impossible ammount of gravity.

"Is it possible that both science and the Bible are right, and 16 billion years and 6,000 years are the same?"
Our best guesses, based on a LOT of actual observation, is that the universe is roughly 16 billion years old and the earth is roughly 4.5 billion years old.
A text from the Bronze Age, with no hard investigations to back up its claims, should be viewed as a collection in print of the fireside legends of that time.

If you dig into scriptures DEEPLY, you'll find the earth was created more than 6000 years ago. The earth, compared to the UNIVERSE as you've stated it, are two different things. The HEAVENS, by scriptural definition in Genesis 1, is between the 'firmament and the firmament', meaning between the land('earth')and the upper atmosphere, what we know now as 'outer space'. Creation of the universe took place much earlier than the present 'creation'.
That is about as simple as I can explain it.

As far as I remember from the time of creation - it is exactly
16 billion and 12 years 5 months old.

this sort of thing has been attempted, but the results leave something to be desired. expansion of the universe alone cannot explain such a large difference in local times - creationists tend to suppose that the speed of light is variable, but this doesn't work well either. creates more problems than it solves, really. such large differences appear to be irreconcilable sorry: one or the other is wrong. my bet is on the 6000 years being wrong, it's not even stated explicitly in the bible.

Wow! That first guy sure is humble, isn't he? Resorts to calling someone an idiot based on a question? He knows nothing about the questioner. Does one mistaken statement make the guy an idiot?

No.
Btw, the bible does not say ANYWHERE that the universe, earth, etc are only 6000 years old.
A monk during the 17th (?) century came up with that number.
