Pops, I do like a good tomato sandwich.
Safety Dance r, I haven't had buttermilk in a long time. When I was growing up my grandfather and I would sit on the porch and drink it, as you say, ice cold.

Hmmm. Good question, because it's so fun.
I have a small handful of things that make me smile, but i'll stick to one.
Clouds. I moved to a new place several months ago. It has a little balcony that faces north. For some reason the cloud formations that happen, morning, noon, and evening, at this location are like none I've ever seen.
Fifty percent of the time they are incredibly beautiful. Shapes, patterns, colors. Or at least very interesting.
I don't ever remember a place where the clouds were so consecutively amazing.
It's just an apartment complex in the suburb of Clinton Twp, Michigan.

I sneak out at night and throw my junk in other people's dumpsters. It can be anything. Lately it's been pieces of busted-up concrete stairs. Somebody wanted two hundred dollars to haul it away. I just break the biggest pieces up with a sledge hammer and cart them away on a hand truck under cover of darkness. I have a very sturdy plastic bag that originally contained decorative marble chips. I use that to haul away the small chunks. Last night I accidentally dropped it in a dumpster and had to get half way in to rescue it.

Over the years there have been many things that deserve a spot on my simple pleasures list.
To me, there is a super pleasure on taking a hike in the Appalachian mountains, getting caught in a rain shower (not storm), finding a rock to sit it out on, the rain stops, sun come out, and there is this wonderful view all around you with a rainbow framing it all.
Has happened several times lately and I love it just as much each time.
Having my dog & son (9), with me makes it even more wonderful.

1, A slap on the butt from my boyfriend when I'm in the kitchen cooking up his favorite meal.
2. A clean bathroom
3. Fresh, powered sheets
4. Sitting on the porch with a cup of Yerba Matte tea about 5:00 in the morning, listening to the birds chirping away and watching the sun come up.
5. A fresh, hot shower, lying in bed with the fan blowing directly on me and my lover slipping behind me with hot kisses on my neck......

Having a tall glass of Ale of Atholl which is a Scottish brew. I had it there about 8 years ago. Can't find it in the states. But that was quite pleasurable indeed!
Another is riding my bike early on Saturday morning.

Early morning, I throw a slice of bread out for the birds. To watch a blackbird tug at it as if it was a worm, then because the bread offers no resistance, the bird topples backwards and looks surprised. They never learn! Well, it brightens up my day, and you did ask for simple pleasures.
