What? Evolution seems much more likely than God did it. How stupid is that, God cannot be a good enough answer. We also know about asteroids and comets, that could destroy the human race. What, if one day God doesn't like us, he can just make us all die, just like poof?! That makes no sense at all! I need proof otherwise. We also have dinosaur bones. Or are those fake too, and made in a secret factory?! Oh my fake God!

The only thing modern science shows is "How" things happened.

The Big Bang happened, and things evolved. Science tries to trace these happenings to the present time.

But science cannot explain "Why" things happened. That is the realm of God.

Even science agrees that time is fluid. As a matter of fact, we can speed it up and slow it down ourselves. Who is to say that the creation didn't take six "days"? Who decided on the measurement of a day before the earth was created?

We humans perceive a day as one rotation of the earth. Elsewhere, a day might be perceived as a completely different length of time. A "day" on Mercury is 88 of our days long. Perhaps one of God's days is one rotation of the Universe. (It is rotating, you know.)

Time, as we know it, only exists within this reality. It has mathematical relationships with matter, light, and speed.

God is outside of time. He created it, and logic would say that if God existed before time existed, then God cannot exist inside of time, He has to be outside of it. I imagine He can drop in for a visit, but His existence is beyond our material world.

I think that the whole science vs. religion thing is ridiculous...Why can't there be a middle ground? There are very few religious people I know that do not accept evolution. On the other hand, I myself am a "fallen Christian" of sorts but once you trace every effect back to its cause, you have to admit that at some point you come to a halt. Scientists cannot completely explain the origin of life yet, for example. I mean, you can trace evolution back to the first single-celled organism, but where did that come from? Perhaps this can all be scientifically explained in the future but we are a long way off...Religon may not explain your questions adequately, but neither does science.

hmm dino bones. funny you say that because christians dont deny dinos. what we deny is that dinos died off way before humans did. we lived together. funny how if dinos were not around with humans that in 200 ad tell now. there are drawings of dinos. i say 200 AD because according to evolution dinos were not known untill 1800 is when we started to find the bones and know what they were. hmm but yet in 200 AD they new about them but did not show the bones. not to mention even now there are many dinos that are around now. the first dino was a lizard just a lot bigger. or iguana i should say. proof is that evolution has changed all the time. but the Bible and belief in God has been around and not changed. sad thing is that evolution has not been proven either but they say it is fact when it is not. you can believe what you want that does not make it true. yes it goes for both sides you can say the same to christians. but many evolution people know the truth but they dont present the truth. evolution people have admited that there ways of showing how old earth is is only acurate to 200 years. if that. so many things they have claimed have been proven not true like they claim it takes millions of years or more to make fossils, coal, jewels, stone and what not. however they just proved it does not take that long. most of that you can do in a couple days to 6 years. they have a rock out there with a certain mark in it of some type of species. they said these rocks have to be 300 millions years old. however they just found these rocks with the same species still alive. just like many other animals that are supposed to be extinct for millions of years that well guess what they are still alive. dinos they have now just not as big. komodo dragon could have been what we call a dino if it were alive before the flood and would get 5 times bigger. being that reptiles cont. to grow thruout there whole life. before the flood we lived to be 800 years old. same with other animals. so komodo dragon would have lived 6 to 8 times longer hmm if they cont. to grow thru out there life they could get pretty big and we would have a dino. plus how the earth was then could have also helped make them grow bigger as well. they say the earth was like a green house effect. we have hyperbarach(spelling) chambers now. they help us heal faster and all. they represent what the earth was like before the flood. we all know that scorpions get to be maybe 4 inches long and cardboard thin. however when put into one of these and within a couple of weeks those same scorpions get to be 2 to 4 inches thick and 8 inches long. just by a different atmosphere. hmm.

proof i dont need none. living for God he proves himself more then enough. however if you want it. you can choose to follow something that keeps changing and has to lie to prove itself and gets caught doing so. or believe in what has always been there and what has not been proven wrong. in fact the Bible constantly is being proven to be acurate.

I live in Kentucky and they have just opened a creation museum that teaches that humans and dinos lived together, world created in 6 days etc. It's been wildly popular and they are already having to build a bigger parking lot. I find it all a bit scary that in the face of all that we know of the world and universe etc, people are flocking to that museum and believing it. People are entitled to believe what they want but surely science should go hand in hand with faith and not just try to twist the facts or brush them under the carpet?

How am I supposed to accept "Poof?"?

Do you mean how can you accept in the beginning KABOOM! and the result of a violent explosion was an orderly universe with the earth being exactly the right distance from the sun tilted at the right angle with the right make up of atmosphere and water with the moon being just the right size and distance?

How can you accept "Poof!" inanimate matter suddenly came alive all by itself and then "Poof!" a random bolt of radiation caused it to become all of the millions of complex life forms with libraries worth of genetic information contained in their genes that are a 3 out of 4 error correcting code more complex than any humans have ever devised?

I don't know how a person could accept that. They sure must have a lot of faith in the stories that people spin in order to make mankind on one hand the supreme being and on the other hand a cosmic accident with no more intrinsic value that a flea or a rat or a dog.

WHERE THE WHALE CAME FROM

*Charles Darwin, always ready to come up with a theory about everything, explains how the "monstrous whale" originated:

"In North America the black bear was seen by Hearne swimming for hours with widely open mouth, thus catching, like a whale, insects in the water. Even in so extreme a case as this, if the supply of insects were constant, and if better adapted competitors did not already exist in the country, I can see no difficulty in a race of bears being rendered, by natural selection, more and more aquatic in their structure and habits, with larger and larger mouths, till a creature was produced as monstrous as a whale."—*Charles Darwin, The Origin of Species (1859 and 1984 editions), p. 184.

"Rudyard Kipling, in addition to his journalism, adventure stories, and chronicling of the British Raj in India, is remembered for a series of charming children’s tales about the origins of animals. The Just-So Stories (1902) are fanciful explanations of how . . the camel got his hump (because he was always saying- Humph to everybody). Modeled on the folktales of tribal peoples, they express humor, morality, or are whimsy in ‘explaining’ how various animals gained their special characteristics.

" ‘Not long ago,’ writes science historian Michael Ghiselin, ‘biological literature was full of ‘Just-So’ stories and pseudo-explanations about structures that had developed ‘for the good of the species.’ Armchair biologists would construct logical, plausible explanations of why a structure benefited a species or how it had been of value in earlier stages."—*R. Milner, Encyclopedia of Evolution (1990), p. 245.

Times have not changed; in fact, things are getting worse. As many scientists are well-aware, *Darwin’s book was full of Just-So explanations; and modern theorists continue in the tradition of ignoring facts and laws as they search for still more implausible theories about where stars, planets, and living organisms came from.

When they are written for little people, they are called fairy stories; but, when prepared for big people, they are called "the frontiers of evolutionary science."

"Evolution seems much more likely than God did it."
Really? You mean it seems more likely that life came from non-life, order came from randomness, consciousness obliviousness, intelligence from ignorance, morality from amorality, etc. rather than from a being who possessed all these attributes?

"I need proof otherwise."
What proof do you have that methodological naturalism is true?

"We also have dinosaur bones."
So do creationists. We just simply deny the uniformitarian assumptions that evolutionists and "progressive creationists" use in trying to date them.

People like fairytales. They are more promising than the theory of evolving from apes. I'll take reality anyday though. I think chimps are cute, even if they are notorious for poo throwing.
