Do you have a problem with or hold anything against a person who is Christian&listens to secular music(Rock, rap,r&b, whatever)?

Myself for example,I'm a Christian,spirit-filled Christian in fact(speaking in tounges ect.);my parents know I'm a strong Christian, some friends know I'm Christian,&they know I enjoy listening to both Gospel&rap. My favorite Gospel artist is Fred Hammond, favorite R&B artist is R.Kelly.I use to listen to some jazz, but the jazz radio stations where I live went out of bussiness.

Does it make you think any less of a person that not only claims to be Christian, but is Christian in practice; just becuase they tell you or you know that person enjoys listening to secular music also? Why or why not?

up our beliefs if they are founded from God's Word? I do know one other way and that is to tell you what has happened in our own lives because of choosing God. Would that be more acceptable? If we did that....would you listen?

She wears a small blue vest that says " therapy dog" . I use a scooter for mobility and she rides on it. How do I deal with people continually stoppping me and asking questions and trying to pet my dog. Many say "What kind of dog is that?" I say "Psychological service dog" They still proceed to ask more questions. I am upset by this and I do not have the energy to do my necessary errand and stop and answer all of them. I want to be left alone. I don't know how to communicate that without being rude. I think they are rude to keep questioning me after I tell them the dog is there for psychological reasons. any advice?

Growing up my step mom was perfect in every way. She kept the house spick and span. Kids weren't allowed to have blankets in the living room and not allowed to lay on the couch at all. Everytime there a spill she cleans it up right away. No shoes worn in home. No friends of mine were allowed over cause they might mess up house. Wasn't allowed to do art inside. At age 18 I wasn't allowed to cook 4myself [she feared a fire} or cut my own cake[might mess cake up}. Is this normal?

Do you know any websites that show studies done by credible organisations that provide evidence of reducible complexity?

For those who don't know what reducible complexity is, let me explain...

Darwin's (and any other's) theory of evolution is based on the premise that every organism and plant evolved slowly over time. If this is the case, there should be evidence of a VERY gradual change between species (macroevolution) in the fossil record. (I was told there is no evidence of this, particularly in the Cambrian period, where there was an explosion of new, species).

Also, I was told that scientists have for years been trying to reduce the world's most simple organism (a bacteria consisting of about 250 genes) step by step, but each time they remove one aspect of the DNA, the organism dies.

What I am asking is, where can I find evidence that a single backward step in evolution results in a living organism?

Thank you for your elucidation. :-)

Why even have the Old Testament in the Bible then?

Hypothetically speaking: If I bought some automatic weapons on the black market, drove to your child’s elementary school, went in and started shooting at every teacher and child in my sight, do you think God would intervene to save your child? I’m sure you have taught your child to pray. Do you think God would answer your child’s desperate pleas for help? What if I believed in some radical/cult form of Christianity and prayed to God for assistance in accomplishing my assault? Do you think that he would let me know that this was against his will? Or, do you think God would, as he has done in other situations like this, do nothing while the bodies piled up?

Luke 14:23 "And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and COMPEL them to come in, that my house may be filled."

If God says to do something then it is a commission...correct?

dfn of compel...to force, to drive, to abtain or bring about by force, to force to yield or submit, to gather or unite by force, to drive. sooooo.....how do we do that in a Christian way??

Christians force the word onto Atheists. Atheists try to make Christians question their faith. Why is it nessecery to force the Bible onto ppl that don't want to hear it?Why make ppl question what they believe?Everyone is going to believe what they want. Tell someone once & get it out don't shove it down someone's throat. It hurts to have some1 tell you what you believe is a lie. So why tell someone else that?If you don't want to hear it then why tell some1 that. There are going to be Atheists & Christians in the world forever. Can't we just all get along. Atheists aren't horrible people neither are Christians. I am a Christian. I have questioned my faith many of times. I didn't believe in Christ @ 1 time. I didn't call myself Atheists. I now believe in God. Does that make me a horrible person for once not believe?Am I going to hell for trying to make the world a better place for Atheists & Christians? No!!!!

Leviticus 11(9-12)

"These you may eat of all that are in the water: whatever in the water has fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the rivers; that you may eat. But all in the seas or in the rivers that do not have fins and scales, all that move in the water or any living thing which is in the water, they are an abomination to you. They shall be an abomination to you; you shall not eat their flesh, but you shall regard their carcasses as an abomination. Whatever in the water does not have fins or scales; that shall be an abomination to you."

"Well, enlightenment doesn't equal inhuman or above being human. That's where a lot of people find themselves disillusioned by clergymen(for example). Though I'm sure this also happens when we put anyone up on a pedestal. They put them on an "enlightened" pedestal above others and place very high expectations on them. Then, when the person fails to meet those expectations - we immediately think they were pretending to be something they weren't, when it fact it was our own expectations of them being above being human that were not met. Just some food for thought." - swordarkeereon

This is so astute, it deserved its own question.

I think this is even more true when we are depending upon someone to help us.

Indeed, I'd go further and say this is why so many wanted Jesus crucified: he entered Jerusalem on Passover Week but did -not- liberate them from the Romans and re-establish the Jewish kingdom.

Humans can be dangerous when their expectations are not met.

What say you?

I'd bet my paycheck that if someone started it, they'd be sued for discrimination by one religious group or another. Only thing that'd get ya sued quicker would be "The United Caucasion College Fund". Same as a Christian College can get by with expelling a student for atheism (legally protected due to by-laws given in student handbook), but a secular college would be sued into bankruptcy for expelling a person based on their religion. Why is it that religions and other minorities can discriminate, and be backed by our legal system??

I have been recently saved but can't seem to understand this at times. I just don't understand at times why a God who loves would allow suffering, pain, and little children to suffer from cancer. I know your not supposed to question things like this but I need some scripture to help me understand things.

...is the correct translation of the original version?

The Bible has undergone transformation after transformation and passed through many human hands. I have no problems with people rationally placing their belief in a higher being and even accepting that Jesus died for your sins and is the path to heaven but clearly there has been some human intervention from God's mouth to your bookshelf. Please tell me how or why you are willing to place your faith not only in God but also in these humans.

BTW, I had to direct the question at one group here but the question could be revised and asked of any religious text.

OK, so Muslims worship Allah and Christians worship Jesus, but Jesus is part of a Trinity. So does that mean the Christian God is three times as imaginary as the Muslim God or are they both, I mean all four, equally imaginary? Theology is just so difficult to understand.

I want only honest answers please...I have wondered this for sometime. There was a lady and her 3 years old that was telling me that they don't do blood transfusions because they say it says in the Bible not to "DRINK" blood.

How are transfusions, drinking blood?

Above all I totally believe that apart from God all humanity can do is fail so no prayer is a huge factor. However, I also think abstinence as a choice may not be working because not enough is being taught on the psychological, mental, and emotional pitfalls that occur with sexual activity. Many deep mental scars are left behind. Some people never get over their past hurt and it impairs the ability for some to move on and progress. Teens should know about these things as well!

it was reported that there are now over a billion galaxies and more stars than there are grains of sand on all the beaches of Earth. Untold numbers of those stars (suns) have solar systems circling them. How is it possible to believe that a creator god selected this insignificant little planet to be the proving grounds for his pet project? In the grand scheme of things, this entire solar system of ours is beyond microscopic. Isn't it just man's need to have some meaning that drives him to invent gods that give him some importance?
