What is the best oil to steep potions in? Some sites say Almond Oil while others say Olive Oil. I have found that olive oil breaks down the components more than almond oil. Suggestions?

Almond Oil is the one I use, and to the best of my knowledge the most recommended. It stays fresh for a long time as well.

The debate on oils has been going on, like, forever. The only agreement of minds I've ever witnessed is everyone exiled Cod liver oil to medical potions only.

I use olive or mineral oil (small ingested amounts) for anything ingested and baby oil for anything to be used externally. I know the baby oil has fragrance in it but I find it helps mask some of the stronger herbs sometimes as long as you aren't allergic to the fragrance

Sesame oil is great. It works well on sensitive skin, and doesn't have the woody smell olive oil sometimes does.

Different oils are used for different things. Just do some research and test different ones till you find a good combo.
