Then the LORD said: “My spirit shall not remain in man forever, since he is but flesh. His days shall comprise one hundred and twenty years.” At that time the Nephilim appeared on earth (as well as later), after the sons of heaven had intercourse with the daughters of man, who bore them sons. …the bright red Aldebaran, sits in the middle of this constellation…. The horns of the bull stretch off to the east, marked by β Tauri, traditionally shared with Auriga, and ζ Tauri.

In the west of the constellation… open clusters,… the Pleiades. Behind Aldebaran lie the Hyades, the nearest distinct open star cluster, that with it form a V in the sky marking the bull's head.

The Hebrew of “nephilim” is נפלים, meaning “those causing others to fall”, who come from “sons of God” (בני האלהים “b’nei ha-'elohim”) and “daughters of man”. Bible commentators, considering verse 4, have offered several suggestions as to the identity of these Nephilim. Some have thought that the derivation of the name indicates that the Nephilim had fallen from heaven, that is, that they were ‘fallen angels’ who mated with women to produce “mighty ones . . . the men of fame.” Other scholars, focusing their attention particularly on the statement “and also after that” (vs 4), have said the Nephilim were not the ‘fallen angels’ or the “mighty ones,” since the Nephilim “proved to be in the earth in those days” before the sons of God had relations with women. These latter scholars hold the opinion that the Nephilim were simply wicked men like Cain—robbers, bullies, and tyrants who roamed the earth until they were destroyed by the Flood. Still another group, taking into consideration the context of verse 4, conclude that the Nephilim were not themselves angels, but were the hybrid offspring resulting from materialized angels having intercourse with the daughters of men.

Read the Book of Enoch. The Nephilim were giants born to those Angels (the fallen ones) who conceived them with women. In the Book of Enoch you'll find all the details.

Nephilim was a second son of Isaac. He was noted for his rough and rowdy nature. However, being Isaac's older son from the first wife, he had a right of the first born. IN order to get the inheritance he had to be tricked by Jacob. How? For further info read Genesis etc. thanks.

The origin and meaning of the word "Nephilim" is a topic of scholarly debate. "Nephilim" is most likely a Hebrew word whose basic meaning is "those who have fallen." . Alternate Translations dependant upon the context in which it is used "those who fall upon," in the sense of invaders or hostile and violent men, such as in Eziekel 32:20. " They will fall among those killed by the sword. .... "

The Hebrew word nephel is the root word from which Nephilim would be derived assuming that this interpretation is correct - nephel means: "untimely birth, abortion, miscarriage". Nephilim would therefore be "Unnaturally begotten men" or bastards from "abortion" or "miscarriage

... “the Nephilim are considered by many as demigods, the unnatural offspring of the daughters of men and mortal women in cohabitation with” the sons of god”
. This utterly unnatural union, violating God's created order of being, was such a shocking abnormality as to necessitate the worldwide judgment of the flood.” [ The New Unger's Bible Dictionary ]

The most noteworthy alternative opinion regarding the derivative word of Nephilim is that it refers to a class of Angels descended from Orion. In ancient Aramaic , the constellation Orion was known as Nephila, Orion's descendants would then be known as Nephilim [Peake's Commentary on the Bible ]

Zecharia Sitchin theorizes that humans were created to serve as slaves for the Nephilim when they came to Earth. According to Sitchin's hypothesis, the Nephilim came from Marduk [ A hypothetical planet in the far outer reaches of our solar system.] Sitchin also suggests that the Nephilim became the deities of human mythology. His at times eccentric speculations pertaining to the Nephilim resembles the "ancient astronaut" theories.

The Book of Enoch

Enoch was probably as well known to the ancient readers as he is unknown to modern readers . Genesis says of him only that he "walked with God," and afterward "he was not, because God had taken him" (Gen. 5:24). This passage made Enoch an exalted figure of considerable fascination.

The Nephilim Legend begins with a story of the fallen angels. Originating in the The Book of Enoch . Shemhazai, an angel of high rank, led a sect of angels in a descent to earth to instruct humans in righteousness. {See Legends of the Jews } The mission lasted for a few centuries, but soon the soldiers/missionaries/angels became corrupted in their lusting after human females. After lusting, the fallen angels instructed the women in magic and conjuring, mated with them, and produced offspring, who would later be referred to as the Nephilim.

The Book of Genesis corroborates this legend

Genesis 6:4
The Nephilim were on the earth in those days-and also afterward-when the sons of God went to the daughters of men and had children by them. They were the heroes of old, men of renown.

There is no significant evidence hailing from the Biblical region that Giants once roamed this land. There are extensive archeological proofs in other regions of the World, but not the Middle East. In the Middle East there is extensive and irrefutable evidence of a strange race of people that once cohabited the lands with Homo Sapiens, and it is quite possible that these were the scriptural Nephilim. The King James Bible errantly translates Gigantes [Gegenes] from the Greek as "Giants" .

Genesis 6:4 King James

"There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that..."

Genesis 6:4 New International

"The Nephilim were on the earth in those days—and also afterward.."

"Gigantes" or "Gegenes" does not translate to Giants, it means "Born of the Earth" or "Born of Gaia"

The Greek Gigantes were a primitive tribe born of Gaia (the Earth), some say when she was impregnated by the blood of the castrated Ouranos (Heaven). At the instigation of Gaia, the Gigantes made war on the gods but were destroyed in the ensuing battle .

The Gigantes were sometimes depicted as savage warriors or extreme primitives wearing animal skins and armed with torches and rocks. They were also depicted as Giants, but the word gigantes itself does not translate to Giants . And once again is relative to a fallen Angels saga. The same term [Gigantes/Gegenes] was used to describe the mythical "Titans" -- being partly of heavenly and partly of terrestrial origin.

A similar legend appears In Hinduism, the giants are called Daityas. They were a race who fought against the gods because they were jealous of their Deva half-brothers. They were the children of Diti, who like Gaia was an Earth Goddess, and the sage Kashyapa. Like the Titans and Nephilim they were a race of giants who fought against the gods .
