It clearly says in Revelation 22:18 not to take away or add to...woe to them that do. Apparently the Jehovah Witnesses make a big deal of the word "a" being left out of John 1:1meaning that their is more than one god.....their is only one god, not more than one. And they don't believe in the trinity...which to me is practically the same thing as rejecting it, which is not a good thing. Can someone please explain to me?

for me evolution is an expression of a pattern within a created environment and not an expression of creation in itself. even if the theory of evolution ever becomes a law, nothing could possibly evolve if nothing was created. So why do some people think evolution opposes creation?

He is the extra 1 (the 144,000 being humans from his death onwards, so Jehovah's Witnesses say). But I thought Jesus was the MEDIATOR of this New Covenant? The Mediator is not IN the Covenant, surely? He is the creator of it, the instigator of it, the one who determines its conditions, and the one who fulfills his own promises towards those who keep that Covenant. He is over and above the Covenant. He determines who shall and who shall not be brought into that Covenant, so how can he be a beneficiary of his own promises? (See Matthew 26:26-30, Mark 14:22-26, Luke 22:14-30, 1 Cor 11:23-26, Heb 9:15 & 12:22-28.)

There's no need for JWs to explain their interpretation of the 144,000 doctrine because that's been well aired on Yahoo already. I just want to know where this extra, one 'member' comes from and what the biblical rationale for that is.

Everybody seems to claim for respect towards religious freedom, but there is not so much respect for the catholic belief.
Why do you think this happens?

Is this me or just everything evil is now presented in such a fashion that we must sympathize with it?

Just like the Libearls asking us to question ourselves "Why do they Hate US?" "They are someone's freedom Fighters"

Do you have a more formal dinner where people dress up a little bit? Or do you have a casual, family style dinner? I think I know how most people will answer.

Maybe I should starve myself, live in the streets, no home, no money and wait for God who created me, to take care of me.

I don't want no other people to take care of me except God. He created me, and if he wants me to stay alive and live he should take care of me. I am talking about God the creator

I am talking about God, who everyone believes in, and know that they are going to heaven after die.

I should not work a day in my life, I should live on the streets until God take care of me.

I was raised Catholic and assumed I was Christian, until I read the Bible myself and found out you can't be born into faith that gives you salvation, it has to be decision you make on your own. But I think most people think Catholics are Christian because the church was originally Christian. Of course some are, inspite of the Catholic church itself. What do you think?

If God has a reason for everything, what is his reason for not intervening when a child burns to death in a fire? If it is a reason that we mortals are not capable of comprehending, isn’t it kind of cruel for him to leave us wondering? If he somehow explained why he was not intervening, wouldn’t it make it easier for us to cope with such things? Secondly, if you claim that his reason for not intervening in such a situation is that children burning is the fault of man, not God, why does God intervene to help in some situations that are man’s fault, but not others? For example, many children have been “miraculously” rescued from fires, and many Christians praise God and say that God is the reason that the children were saved. Does God have a reason for some children to burn and others to be saved?

I'm just courious what others think about the spelling police and the belittle people. Why do YOU think they are out there? Lets see how many belittle people come out of the woodwork from this question.

belittle: make seem less significant: to reduce or dismiss the importance or quality of somebody or something.

All precepts and commandments are about love and understanding. 'Love is patient. Love is kind. Love is not envious, arrogant, or rude. It does not rejoice in wrong. It does not insist on its own way....' This is very close to the teachings of love and compassion in Buddhism. Why do we think we are so dissimilar regardless if you are Christian, Pagan, Jew, Muslim, Atheist, Gnostic etc. etc.
