What's the difference Between a christian and Catholic?
The guy I'm seeing is Christian. Attends weekly meetings, Goes to Church every Sunday and even goes out with the a church group for activities such as camping...
He invited me to go to church one Sunday and I just want to be prepared on what to expect. I'm catholic btw.

upon which He would build his church. I hear so much about Paul but very little about Peter. Historically speaking, the two didn't get along very well but if you think about it, Peter was Jesus actual apostle and Paul was roaming around murdering Christians before his conversion. Why trust Paul at all?

The reason I believe agnosticism is what scientists should beleive in is because it fits more appropriatly to the scientific method. This is because unlike religion or athiesm, agnosticism keeps the existance or non-existance of god in quesion unlike athiesm or religion which jumps to conclusion about gods existance or non-existance. Therefore it opens the minds of scientists to accept discoveries that may lead to a paradigm shifts without the interference of personal bias. Anyone agree?

How did people become saints? I mean did someone decide that they will should be saints after they died or was it something certain they did that made them saints?

I know some extreme Pentecostal groups (e.g., Oneness Pentecostals) actually teach this. They say that if you don't speak in tongues, then you are not really saved. I think this is totally false. The evidence that you are saved is that you bear the fruit of the Spirit (Gal 5:22-24). Those Pentecostals who believe in this nonsense are heretics. They should not be considered true Christians.

I took a part-time position as a customer service rep working nights. It is for a small company therefore, there are only two of us working in the evening. Both of us night people were given a key for the building. My boyfriend also works there, however, he works there during the day in the warehouse however, he works full-time. My co-worker has previously expressed his desire to advance to a supervisory position but, he seems to be acting like it minus the title. When we are leaving for the night, my boyfriend comes to pick me up, well my Co-worker will not leave until he makes sure we are walking out the door. A week ago, I was shutting down my computer and my Boyfriend was standing there waiting for me to shut down and the co-worker is standing at the light switch telling us to hurry up. He then turned the light off on us and then turned it back on. My boyfriend said out loud don't we have a key to lock up, and I replied yes. He's done several other similar things in the past.

Today the fastest growing religion in America is Islam. The fastest growing religion in Europe in Islam. Which sword is forcing people in the West to accept Islam in such large numbers?
Muslims ruled Spain for about 800 years. The Muslims in Spain never used the sword to force the people to convert. Later the Christian Crusaders came to Spain and wiped out the Muslims. There was not a single Muslim in Spain who could openly give the adhan, that is the call for prayers.
Indonesia is a country that has the maximum number of Muslims in the world. The majority of people in Malaysia are Muslims. May one ask, "Which Muslim army went to Indonesia and Malaysia?"
The Muslims ruled India for about a thousand years. If they wanted, they had the power of converting each and every non-Muslim of India to Islam. Today more than 80% of the population of India are non-Muslims. All these non-Muslim Indians are bearing witness today that the sword did not spread Islam
With which sword was Islam spread? Even if Muslims had it they could not use it to spread Islam because the Qur’an says in the following verse:
"Let there be no compulsion in religion:
Truth stands out clear from error"
[Al-Qur’an 2:256
The best reply to the misconception that Islam was spread by the sword is given by the noted historian De Lacy O’Leary in the book "Islam at the cross road" (Page 8):
"History makes it clear however, that the legend of fanatical Muslims sweeping through the world and forcing Islam at the point of the sword upon conquered races is one of the most fantastically absurd myth that historians have ever repeated."

When he stated all these things will come to pass before this generation passes? Did he mean the generation he was addressing? If so does that mean he lied about returning before they died, or did he do what he said he would do before they died?

After much thought about these things I have a few observations:
Having been raised Catholic, I was taught that the reason for suffering was not trusting in God or somehow not doing enough penance etc. etc. Buddhism has a whole set of beliefs that fall along the same lines in terms of the causes of suffering except that we are fully responsible for our suffering (even though I think Catholicism has the same concept just differently stated). If one is an atheist, hell is here and we can either work to change it or just live with it and die. In the end, we all suffer, we all have some different degrees of what we believe our responsibilities are in creating it and that in some ways our actions or lack thereof create a hellish existence........Does anyone else see the correlations here? I believe it has to be "Peace". Not Peace as in war, but inner peace which gives the comfort and strength you need.

I won't go into exact details but I have a situation that I've been praying about and praying about for three months. Finally it reached a breaking point where I either would have to keep trying to work this thing out or give up.
I decided to give up.
And then I felt like God was looking down at me as if though I was a quitter.
Since that day I've felt like God has been telling me to fast and pray about this situation. The only thing is, the situation is eating me up inside and it feels like I'm nearing my wits end. I honestly feel like I'm going to snap because the situation has reached a point now where I can do nothing but pray about it.
I want to know, how will I know if this is God or if this is me being deceived or worse it's my own mind playing tricks on me.
This is truly a delicate matter and I would appreciate it if only those of faith or who are at least understand of it would respond.

Granted, I don't believe in the rapture anyway but I figured it wouldn't hurt to pray just in case. You know, like Pascal's Wager for nerds.
