to pray that Jesus doesn't return before the release of the final Harry Potter book?
Granted, I don't believe in the rapture anyway but I figured it wouldn't hurt to pray just in case. You know, like Pascal's Wager for nerds.

Idaho Mike: But I AM a believer! Why does everyone assume I'm not a Christian? The profile is only one click away, folks.

I knew a Christian who actually prayed that Jesus wouldn't return before the Seinfeld finale.
Bet she wishes she had that one back. That episode sucked.

I believe it is wrong. Jesus' return is a lot more important than ANY book. By you giving the impression that you put more importance on a book rather than the return of Jesus I can see where Idaho Mike is coming from. No offense intended. I am probably just reading your question wrong. God Bless.

Have you read the last of the Harry Potter books?... It is very possible that the big secret everyone is wondering about could be the return of Jesus along with the exact date and time and that is why it is so secretive! LOL .There is nothing wrong in praying dear Heart.

He wont. I can almost garuntee it. The world has to go through alot more suffering than it is right now. When the worlds economy falls and the goverment falls apart then you should worry, but the signs of the times havent all been fullfilled. So you can relax in your easy chair and read Harry potter before Christ comes. If you want some interesting things to read about his coming, read the Book of Revelations.

I felt bad for a relative that died before the final Lord of The Rings movie came out. He loved those stories. At the funeral home I said it was to bad things happened like that and a minister replied, "He is beyond caring now."
Nice

Nobody knows the coming of the son of man. Matthew 24: 36Nor the day or hour no one knows, neither the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37For as the days of Noah, so will be coming of the Son of Man.

We are only human right. I think God is just laughing. Don't worry, I'm sure alot of us Christians have prayed for other silly stuff as well.
P.S. I secretly asked the same thing! As much as I want his return...could he just wait until after the Seventh movie??? :)

You can pray for whatever you like. But that doesn't mean you are going to get it. I would think that going to heaven would far outweigh the pleasure of reading a book.
Keep some perspective here.
