My Christian friends were not offended. Did you see that Catholic guy arguing with the artist? How funny was that!! The Catholic guy said "you are just a loser artist" and the artist was like "whatever, you are acting like a child"

I believe that it's certainly an expression of the artist's creativity, but the subject matter and its treatment makes is certainly inappropriate, if not blasphemous. For many in the world Jesus is a focal point of their religious beliefs and, as such, should engender respect rather than sensationalism. As a practicing Catholic, my objection is not so much from a theological standpoint as it is from a simple matter of disrespect for one of the world's most historically significant figures. I would feel exactly the same way if other significant figures were depicted in chocolate and the public subsequently invited to lick or eat the sculpture, as was the case here. I can't speak for Jesus, but I'm guessing that if He were around today He'd take a look at it and say "Gimme a break...that's what I gave this guy talent for?"

I didn't see the sculpture, but it doesn't bother me any more than all the sculptures in the Catholic church, anatomically correct or not.
I personally dislike all graphic depictions of Jesus, whether it is in pictures or sculptures or some other method of creating a likeness. The reason for this is the temptation to limit Jesus to the form that is depicted. This can very easily tempt people to idolatry. (No, not all people are tempted.)

It depends. As an art medium, chocolate is just a material like stone, plaster, or clay, so if the sculpture was intended solely as a respectful work of art, then I wouldn't be offended. However, if it was publicly eaten or melted as part of a protest or out of disrespect or something, then yes, that's very offensive.

First of all, the sculptor was out of his mind.
No one knows how Jesus looks, nor his height or weight. Also I felt bad because it is making Jesus like a cartoon character. If only the sculptor knew what he was doing. He could have done someone else, but no he had to pick Jesus. The man who is our Savior must not be mocked that way. All he was looking for was for a way to get fame since maybe other works he had done before we all flops.

I'm really not religious, to a point, but if I was, I wouldn't be offended by a chocolate sculpture of Jesus lol.
If anything I would be proud of it and eat it :)

Never heard the song, but I'll have to look it up.
The statue didn't bother me. And, I assumed Jesus was anatomically correct, too.

Although the chocolate may have been tasty, the statue was in very poor taste. It didn't offend me. It just made me want to be sure to steer clear of the "artist".

Nope, no offense taken.
Although I should admit it would kinda weird to eat it. If there's a chocolate of some celebrity statues, I don't think they will be offended. Hey, if i'm made a statue... I'll eat myself... ahahaha
