Is that completely wrong, should I find something else to wear.

I had twins and am still not to my original size and very few of my nice clothes fit.

A pair of white pants are absolutely acceptable, the bride won't mind all the attention will be on her, besides it's pants. It's not like you will be wearing an all white gown like her, and the black top will go fine with the pants. If it makes you feel comfortable that's what counts. No need to buy any new clothes if your still working off the "baby pounds"

P.S. Have Fun

I just got married in May. My husband's good friend just got married a couple of weeks ago, as did my nephew. As long as you don't wear all white, you will not be competing with the bride. As long as you don't wear all black, you will not appear to be mourning the wedding as one would wear black to a funeral. If you are combining black and white together, that is actually tasteful. Just make sure the white stands out more than the black any you should be fine. You need to be comfortable and really, the focus will be on the bridal party more than the guests. The only guests who are usually noticed at weddings for the way that they dress are those who are far too casual for an elegant wedding (i.e. wearing shorts or a halter top), or those whose necklines are so low that it causes whispers or those who dress in such shocking outfits or bold colors as to draw attention away from the bride and groom. The outfit you suggested sounds just fine.

Honestly, i would use this as an excuse to SHOP for new outfit. White isn't horrible, but it's really not that classy. Two babies...will they be going with you? What if they get dirty? Sounds like something to wear to the park...get a new outfit that compliments your body. Just cause your body isn't the same as before doesn't mean there aren't clothes out there to flatter you. If you have to ask whether or not it's horrible, probably a good sign not to wear. Do a darker shade...like deep purple or maroon, darker colors are slimming. This will help make you feel pretty and have fun at the wedding. I think you might run the risk of feeling self-concious about the black/white ensamble.

There is nothing wrong with that. Now if you showed up in a long white gown, the bride would probably be offended. I always stress out over what to wear to weddings and when I get there I see people wearing things that I was afraid to wear. If you just had twins you could probably wear a MuMu & people would understand, lol.

You bet that's fine!! I know people used to not wear black to a wedding. Well....my daughter got married and I wore a long totally black dress with a strap over one arm, the other was strapless....it did have sequins on part of it, a slit up the side of one leg....I got many compliments.

I wore it cause it was really pretty and I like black! So...wear whatever you want...the bride and groom will be glad to see you...not what you're wearing.

White pants are just fine. The only thing that you can not or should not wear is all white. Other then that, you are good to go. Have fun and congrats on the twins.

There's nothing wrong with what you suggest, as long as it doesn't take attention away from the bride on "her day." That would include white, if formal enough, and it is something you like.

Congratulations on the twins!

You should check with the bride first. Some brides simply go ballistic if anyone else is wearing white, others don't care. If the bride is OK with it, wear the white pants.

Congratulations on the babies - but be reasonable now. OK so buy a nice new set of clothes that do fit.

That way you won't look dowdy - as white pants (which make people look fat) and a black top (which makes people look like they're trying NOT to look fat) will do.

Maybe you FEEL dowdy since you had the twins - but you don't have to LOOK dowdy.
