Hello all, I'm a 25 y/o guy, I have a brother 3 years younger than me. While growing up I kinda always knew that my brother might be gay but, I never "really" knew. Untill one day when I was messing around with his PC and kinda fiured out he is.

See I have came to notice that my brother have been feeling really down over a long period of time, but I have always mistaken it for just him being a "quiet / likes to be alone" kind of guy.

We come from a VERY conservative background, so I might know why he might not even concider coming out to us at all. And I'm starting to feel how much he might be in pain because of this. Me and my brother arnt the type that chat a lot together. But I dont want to grow up and loose him for something I dont think is significant enough to put "barriers" between him and me / us.

I love my brother too much to loose him over such a thing. I was hoping if someone can tell me how can I come up to him and tell him "I'm OK with it?"

"Buddhism has the characteristics of what would be expected in a cosmic religion for the future: it transcends a personal God, avoids dogmas and theology; it covers both the natural & spiritual, and it is based on a religious sense aspiring from the experience of all things, natural and spiritual, as a meaningful unity" Albert Einstein

People that smoke regularly probably spend an actual 1 hour per day smoking (6 a day x 10 min?) = 60 minutes. If you think about it, that's only 4% of the day. So if you are a Mormon and smoke, you could claim that you adhere to the Word of Wisdom 96% of the time.

Is this good logic? Could a smoker get a temple recommend based on this? I mean, 96% of the time is pretty good right? Maybe by next week they'll be at 97%. Since the WOW is a guideline, 100% is not expected right?

people are made of of three items:

1. Body
2. Spirit - Breath of Life
3. Makes a Soul

just like a Box.

1. Wood
2. Nails
3. makes a Box

What happens when you take the nails out of the wood? The Box disappears.

Same as when the spirit leaves the body, the soul disappears. the Soul is you. the Spirit, or Breath of life, goes back to the life giver - God of Heaven, sorry, that is not you that goes right away :( just the breath of life. the body goes back to where it came from, the dirt of earth, well most of it. Some bones just don´t disappear, they tend to stick around for a while.

I am telling you what i Believe, not forcing you to believe the way i do. its just my opinion :)

George Carlin's View on Aging

Do you realize that the only time in our lives when we like to
get old is when we're kids? If you're less than 10 years old,
you're so excited about aging that you think in fractions.

"How old are you?" "I'm four and a half!" You're never
thirty-six and a half. You're four and a half, going on five!
That's the key.

You get into your teens, now they can't hold you back. You
jump to the next number, or even a few ahead.
"How old are you?" "I'm gonna be 16!" You could be 13, but
hey, you're gonna be 16! And then the greatest day of your life . .
You become 21. Even the words sound like a ceremony . . YOU BECOME
21.
YESSSS!!!

But then you turn 30. Oooohh, what happened there? Makes you
sound like bad milk! He TURNED; we had to throw him out. There's
no fun now, you're Just a sour-dumpling. What's wrong? What's
changed?

You BECOME 21, you TURN 30, then you're PUSHING 40. Whoa!
Put on the brakes, it's all slipping away. Before you know it, you
REACH 50

And your dreams are gone.

But wait!!! You MAKE it to 60. You didn't think you would!

So you BECOME 21, TURN 30, PUSH 40, REACH 50 and MAKE it to
60.

You've built up so much speed that you HIT 70! After that it's
a day-by-day thing; you HIT Wednesday!

You get into your 80's and every day is a complete
cycle; you
HIT lunch; you TURN 4:30; you REACH bedtime. And it doesn't end
there. Into the 90's, you start going backwards; "I Was JUST 92."

Then a strange thing happens. If you make it over 100, you
become a little kid again. "I'm 100 and a half!"

May you all make it to a healthy 100 and a half!!

HOW TO STAY YOUNG

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight
and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay
"them!"

2 Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts,
gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. "An idle mind is
the devil's workshop." And the devil's
name is Alzheimer's.

4. Enjoy the simple things.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for
breath.

My friend told me she was bi when she was 14. Then a few years later when we were 16 she said she thinks she is a lesbian. Now we are 18 and she is back to saying she is bi. If being gay is not a choice then why does she keep on flip flopping around like this?

But then, spoke to man through Jesus?...And now; He speaks to us through His Word.....And one day...when THIS life is over.....We're going to "know" Him as He is.....In all of His glory.

Today we can know Him through His Word preserved for us in the scriptures.
(To him who has an ear, let him hear)

"God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,
Hath in these last days spoken unto us by [his] Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;
Who being the brightness of [his] glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;"

The earth is made up of trillions of molecules that have been around for 4.5 billion years, with chemical and mechanical processes going on all around it. The earth sits in a 14 billion year old universe made up of billions of galaxies and hundreds of billions of stars with countless billions of planets, each with trillions of their own molecules with their own chemical and mechanical reactions. With all these billions of trillions of molecules interacting over time, Christians still deny that a random chemical reaction can come together to create life. The fact is, with the number of molecules in the oceans and on land, the reaction to create life has probably happened time and time again right here on our very own planet.
So with all of what's going on at the molecular level, how can Christians deny life can started out of a simple random happening, and prefer to believe a magical deity is a more plausible explanation?

The term sacrifice implies that the sacrificer is giving up and forfeiting that which he is sacrificing.
But when Jesus died on the cross, he did not give up or loose anything. For he was G0d and would still be G0d, the all powerful creator, omnipotent, omniscient, omnipresent, and omnitemporal.
Even moreso, Jesus, upon his death, ascended to heaven to rule as G0d. And before he died, Jesus knew that this would be the case too. So if anything- his death was the opposite of a sacrifice- it was a gain to himself.

My mom and stepfather go to a Christian church and force me to go along with them.

Anyways, I noticed right away that every Sunday the church collects "tithes" and apparantly they expect that you give money for that, and for other special offerings. I just want to know why you should have to pay money to a place of worship. It doesn't make sense to me. You go there to strengthen your spirituality. Why should it cost money?

The original reference to Lucifer in the bible was comparing a king to Lucifer, the morning star (Venus). How did this get twisted into a demonic being, trying to destroy mankind? A little education and study go a long way into de-demonizing the whole devil myth.

Let's say the entire population was reduced to a single man and woman, and neither one believed in a god.

Now there is no more higher power, or a society from which to derive moral or social ethics. At this point, they get to choose, and they have the ultimate moral power - to decide if the human species goes on, or goes extinct.

Does this not give them the right to decide what is morally correct for all humans that follow, since they were the life givers to the "new" human species.

If you say no, is this not the same exact power you are granting to your god?

Doesn't this prove that humans, and ONLY HUMANS should get to decide what is moral and ethical for our species?
