I don't mind admitting that I am a senior citizen and entitled to a senior citizen discount if they offer one to people age 60.

However, when people start asking you if you would like a senior citizen discount when you are in your fifties or early sixties -- this is a big ouch! It hurts.

Heck no!

I waited long enough to be able to get these things and I fully intend to take advantage of them.

Went to the drug store today to get some ice cream for my family. I made the comment that their own brand was superior to the brand that I had picked up, however, their brand wasn't on sale and this brand was. The cashier handed me a plastic card and advised me that I should use this card for everything that isn't on sale and I would get a 10% discount at checkout. You can't beat this type of service, it's a real money saver and great public service to the Senior population.

By the way, it has nothing to do with admitting whether I'm 30 or 60. I'm the age that I am, take it or leave it, 'cause it doesn't get any better than this.

Hope you enjoy it when you get there!

If I were a senior citizen and had that privilege of enjoying freebies or discounts, I would take advantage of it. They are a big help - it means I can have some spare money to buy some other things I like and not take it out from my budget. I wouldn't be ashamed to admit I was a senior citizen rather, I would be proud to have reached that stage.

I want my damn discount!!
A young friend of my daughters was working the register and she gave me the 10% seniors discount on my groceries. I was 45 at the time. Hell yeah, give me my discount. I ain't proud. The way I see it, a lot of my schoolmates and such from the 1970's are not here, they did not even make it out of the 80's.
I still work a 9-5 and any discount that I get I take. More money for my swinger parties. (smile)
Peace

Admit to who? The cashier or clerk who doesn't give a rip about your age? Or whether you paid full price or the discount? Your family, your friends, your health care providers, SSA and you know your age so who's to impress?

After working long and hard most of your life-looks and vanity doesn't rate as a TOP 10 item on the list. These have been replaced by more important values.

It's just a way to say "thanks" and giving back a little something to those who have already given for so many years.

I don't care if people think I'm an Old Fart! I waited long enough to finally get a senior citizen discount and I'm taking advantage of it.

BTW, BurgerKing and McDonalds sell senior coffee for $.50.
Enjoy!

No, if you are a senior citizen, you cannot hide the fact anyway so take the discount and say thank you.

No way!

On Social Security I need all the discounts I can get just to survive.

I just hate having to admit that I didn't have sense enough to put enough away for retirement.
