Throw in the fact that properly translated, most key biblical references to "Hell" are really references to the garbage dump outside of Jerusalem and it really gets interesting.

You better read your Bible friend. Lucifer, the Devil, Satan, whatever you call him, was a fallen angel which God descended him out from heaven. He was never compared to a star or Venus. That is dumber than dumb!
Twisted you say, you're the one twisted into thinking this nonsense about this evil, vile demonic creature. Trying to destroy mankind? Well he has! Satan is the deceiver of the world. (Revelation 12:9 - And the great dragon was thrown down, the serpent of old who is called the devil and satan, who deceives the whole world; he was thrown down to the earth, and his angels were thrown down with him. "Yes Margaret, there is a devil, and he's not a myth."
Yes, a lot of education and studying into this would help you out a lot in knowing God and what all He can do and has done and will continue to do. I can continue to go on with this, but I won't as I feel you are a hater of God, and therefore would not listen.
Look in the Bible's index, if you have one, and look up satan, devil or even the evil one and it will take you to scriptures exposing him. He's not a myth, but a real live, evil doer, who is out trying to destroy God's word and His people; and even the non-believers, which is you too!

Biblical exegesis is not a discipline in which one can indulge whimsical commingling of completely separate and unrelated mythologies and theologies. That would be the equivalent, in linguistics, of attempting to elicit the significance of Sumerian words through English phonetics. The fact that it is becoming commonly done hardly means that it's a productive idea. It's merely a manifestation of the dumbing down of culture, in general.
Also, the use of the phrase "is this the man", in order to aver that "Lucifer was a mere human", is taking absolutely no note of the fact that this is merely a convenient English translation of a Hebrew term. You have to go to the original text, when you attempt this sort of thing, and that's where revisionist theories crumble.
A classic example of common mistranslation is prominently featured in the 10 Commandments. It says "Thou shalt not murder", but it's almost universally given (since the King James scholarly group effort at a cogent translation) as "Thou shalt not kill". Perhaps too subtle a difference, but in the context of the Old Testament, it's a fairly consistent one.

So because they have the same name, that obviously rules out the supernatural being and placed above that is the name of a planet...... I think that if the satanic, deceiving devil were just the planet Venus, the Bible would have never said that Lucifer was that bad... Just because they have the same name doesn't destroy the existance of the bad one.
It doesn't take much study to read "DEMONIC POWER" and not read anything about Venus to realize, hey, I think this "Lucifer" guy is evil...

What about this, then? Lucifer is referred to as a "man" below. Directed to Lucifer:
Isaiah 14
12 “ How you are fallen from heaven,
O Lucifer,[b] son of the morning!
How you are cut down to the ground,
You who weakened the nations!
13 For you have said in your heart:
‘ I will ascend into heaven,
I will exalt my throne above the stars of God;
I will also sit on the mount of the congregation
On the farthest sides of the north;
14 I will ascend above the heights of the clouds,
I will be like the Most High.’
15 Yet you shall be brought down to Sheol,
To the lowest depths of the Pit.
16 “ Those who see you will gaze at you,
And consider you, saying:
‘ Is this the man who made the earth tremble,
Who shook kingdoms,
17 Who made the world as a wilderness
And destroyed its cities,
Who did not open the house of his prisoners?’
18 “ All the kings of the nations,
All of them, sleep in glory,
Everyone in his own house;
19 But you are cast out of your grave
Like an abominable branch,
Like the garment of those who are slain,
Thrust through with a sword,
Who go down to the stones of the pit,
Like a corpse trodden underfoot.
20 You will not be joined with them in burial,
Because you have destroyed your land
And slain your people.
The brood of evildoers shall never be named.

Keep living with your head in the sand. Evil is everywhere and its ROOT and SOURCE is in Satan. As far as Lucifer being the planet venus you are in error. The bible tells us in Genesis that In the Beginning God created the Heavens and the earth... Later in Job 38:4-7 we see that when God was laying down the measurements of the foundation of earth that the sons of God rejoiced....The angels were referred to as the sons of God.. common "s" in sons...Lucifer existed BEFORE the universe was made... before Venus was made..
There is evil in this world.. look at the News.. Look at your own thoughts..

1. Lucifer, the morning star is like Mars, the red planet in that they refer to both an astronomical body and a god (mythological being) in this case a version of Prometheus. His crime? Disobeying the "Gods." So your claim that it is just Venus isn't accurate. The bible turns every other God or demi-god into a demon, whether Ishtar or Lucifer. The association of a disobedient Prometheus with a rebellious Lucifer is just another example of a religious borrowing, like the flood.
2. You make the mistake of thinking that readers of the bible can be swayed by logical thinking.

Oh, thank you so much, son of Lucifer for the enlightenment. It must be so hard to deal with those of us in the dark but you've done an admirable job of demythifyng the entire Bible for me. What would the world do w/o people like you. You shall be as God and you shall not surely die. What a perfect scripture that must have been written just for you!

You are wrong. Lucifer is the name of Satan. While we may call Venus the "morning star", that is not the reference used for "Lucifer" as given in the Bible. Think about it, of what value would any discussion of Venus be of value as referring to spiritual anything in the Bible. Zero value, is the answer, and your conclusions are very much in error. Let's not confuse the ideas of man, and what something may mean now, as opposed to what it meant then.

Lucifer was God's shining star. His most delightful creation. He was beautiful, given 'free will' and was nearly as wise and able as God Himself. But Lucifer began to use his 'free will' to influence God's angels and, just as man has done, began to believe (and convince others) that he had the same abilities as his Creator and intended to over throw. That is when God kicked his butt out and threw him to the dark and formless earth along with his followers. He was no longer the shinning Lucifer. He was and is now Satan, not a myth.
Venus, shemenus. He is the devil who is set to destroy anything and any one of God's creations. That means you and me.
Believe whatever you choose. I hope you, one day, will learn the truth.
