I have a great respect for the intelligence of atheists on this site. As a Christian, you have challenged me by far to acquire knowledge so that I do not appear ignorant as the majority of Christians in the world do.

I also hear a lot of talk about Christians needing to read books by atheists, and whenever it is realized that most Christians haven't, atheists claim they are afraid. (My library won't give me a card because I am a temporary resident in the city, thus Dawkins and Harris must wait two weeks to be read. I have watched "The God Who Wasn't There" though and took 3 pages of typed notes.)

So my question is, what books written by Christians on the subject of science and atheism have you read lately? If you haven't, then why not? If you have, what did you like or dislike about them?

I recall seeing something years ago saying 15-20% but can't relocate it. Any factual links on this much appreciated.

I know kids tease one another over funny sounding names etc.

If you have anything unique about your name...have you learned to live with it? Or changed it? Or do you just ignore people who make fun of it.

I personally changed my first name...actually my grandma did, I was named after her...so I never really got teased as she gave me an abbreviated version of her name, nice and normal sounding in this "foreign" country, claiming one of her was enough....LOL

And they call you constantly?

I mean, I watch all these people talking on the cell phone on the street. It's like every other person, you know? And in the stores, the sales clerks are splitting their attention between work and personal calls. Same at the post office... That means that somewhere out in the world is someone willing to take these calls every minute of the night and day...

How did this obsession get started? Isn't there a moment these people want to be alone with their own thoughts? Or is that exactly the problem?

I really do find this all quite strange.

Heaven, I guess it will make it easy to accept that God sent some of our loved ones to hell, right? Woo hoo! Thank God for heavenly amnesia. Who wouldn't want amnesia in heaven to forget about their family and friends that were sent to hell?

I have a deal with my husband that I will show him 15 things in the bible that have scienfic or physical proof of happening, or being proved true, and he has to prove just one thing in the bible that is a proven lie. If he is able to, I will renounce my religion.
Do you know of any websites that talk about proof from the bible?

Thanks in advance.

When did you decide you hated gays and what (or who) was the main factor in making that decision?

What are your feelings about Christianity and its place in society? Specifically try to discuss the following if you can, and proof-text the scriptures in whatever way you wish to reflect your own opinion:

♥ The doctrine of "the golden rule."

♥ The raising of gay children within a church.

♥ Church in social structure : both in politics, and as citizens.

♥ Christianity in general.

All Homosexual opinions regarding all denominations are appreciated. Please, any answers allowed. This is a only a forum for understanding, and not for 'hate speech,' so please limit your answers to fantasy-based responses.

What I would like to know is if anyone has any experience with a cast stone product? I am considering a balustrade outside, and am wondering about the durability, the appearance, how it holds up in harsh winter weather. Anyone?

Acts 10:44-47 44 While Peter said these words, the Holy Ghost fell on all them who heard the word... 47 Can anyone forbide them water baptism, who have received the Holy Ghost as well as we?

Hebrew 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.

Matthew 26:28 Jesus said, "Drink ye all of it; For this is my blood of the new testament, that is shed for many for remission of sins..."

Do you still think water baptism saves you & washes away your sins?

Then also consider the thief on the cross who confessed Jesus Lord and asked Jesus to remember him when Jesus entered His Kingdom. He wasn't water baptized either.

Then I assume *Man* determines what rights are in the best interest in society. If that's the case and our rights come from man then man can take them right away..Dis-Agree or Agree?

Wouldn't this type of philospohy bring about dicatorship, communism...

Do you trust a leader that much that he would have such power to give and take away your rights? Rights that are GOD Given
why would you want it any other way?

True or I-Wish-It-Was-True facts about ninjas are fun to compile, so that is what I'm doing.
Personal favourites include:
Ninjas invented the colour black;
To become a ninja, one must first complete a ninternship;
And unlike regular people who are about 75% water and 25% other, ninjas are 75% awesome and 25% very awesome.

For example; if someone killed someone, make them go through what the victim and the family faced. If someone stole; have them feel what the person that was stolen from felt.
Why doesn't he punish people eye for an eye instead of forcing people to burn for eternity when clearly an eye for an eye is more just.
