ROM to me means "Range of Motion"
The abbrevaition to me is used quite frequently, more so than Read Only Memory.
I am an occupational therapist and I use ROM to state what degree of flexion, extension one has in any given joint.
The normal ROM of the knee for example would be knee extension is between 0 and –10 degrees and 135-150 degrees flexion. ROM is measured with a Goniometer.
Thanks for asking and have a great day.

ROM = Read Only Memory. I've also heard it originally meant Remote Operational Memory but no one would say that now. It is memory that is hard coded with instructions on the motherboard.

Shouldn't this be in the computer section?
