whilst many where predicting that yesterday (as of 16 minutes ago) would be the end of time, the rapture, armageddan if you will, I held onto what i predicted, i predicted ntohing would happen, and it didn't, do you think i have a gift?

ok seriously why do people always seem to be predicting the end of the eath because of religion when science and study tells us, erm well the sun still has loads of fusionable material left we are still spinning and global warming isn't going to finish us off quite yet

I have found a mathematical proof of Creationism that puts the evolution/creationism debate to an end!!!
Behold:

Let a=b
Then a^2=ab We can then subtract b^2 from both sides:
a^2 - b^2 = ab - b^2 We can reduce this to:
(a+b)*(a-b) = b(a-b) We can divide both sides by (a-b) to get:
a+b = b And since a = b, we can substitute to get
b+b = b so:
2b=b we divide both sides by b again to get
2=1.
We can now subtract 1 from both sides to get 1 = 0. If we add 0 to both sides, we get 1+0 = 0+0. Since 1+0 is the same as 1, we can reduce this to:
0+0 = 1. Thus, God can create something from nothing. So evolution is false.

Attacking homosexuals is a favorite passtime for many fundamentalist/evangelical christians these days, even to the point of campaigning for state or federal constitutional changes.

As I understand it (and please correct me if I'm wrong), these christians justify their actions by claiming that they are defending family values. I admit, I don't quite understand this logic, but I guess the thinking is that they will set a bad example for children, allowing kids to think this sin is acceptable in society, thus eroding the basis for future family generations? Fair enough.

My question is this. If christians accept that this sin shouldn't be legal, shouldn't they be more concerned about divorce? Mark 10:11 tells us that marrying after a divorce is a sin (adultery). And mathew 5:32 tells us that marrying a divorced woman is also a sin.

Shouldn't we first legislate against sins that actually DO erode families before legislating against sins that MIGHT break up families?

We don't have a word for this, in Portuguese (I'm Brazilian), but I know what an evening is. What I'm asking is what YOU call evening, because I have friends that use this word for what I think is still afternoon, and until late at night. How do you use it? I understand this is different, in different parts of the US, and I'd like to learn how it's used in other English speaking countries, too.

Thank you for your answer! :) Have a wonderful Sunday! :)

It's not all of them, but there are A LOT of them that have pink skin (like a pig) and there's all kinds of brownish freckles too. Is this where the term "red neck" comes from?

Hey. Im recently becoming a christian and I was wondering a few things about christians. Do you really believe that people who dont know Jesus will go to hell? I love my boyfriend very much but he is not very religious and I am terrified to death that he will go to hell when he dies. I believe that Jesus loves me but I want to know what christians think I should do. I dont want to have to break up with my boyfriend. Also, why did you become christian? What made you want to be one? I would love to hear your story. Thanks!

isn't it illegal for any organization to deny someone something just based on race alone? If I were to apply for college money I would be turned down solely because of my race, because I'm white. How is this not racist? I can see the use of BET and stuff like that because let's face it, there are more white based programs on tv than anything, I don't have a problem with BET. But black people can get college money from the government, such as Pell grants, just as much as a white person can. But a white person cannot get college money from the United ***** College Fund. In my mind, this is racist! What if there were a United White People's College Fund that denied people just because of their race? That would be racist too, and never tolerated! Can someone please explain this to me?

i am a Christian and i can admittedly see the Pagan influences in the holidays we have to celebrate Christ. for example, Easter and its symbolism of the bunny and easter eggs. definitely influenced by pagan holidays of fertility in my opinion. also, i am not so sure that the times we celebrate these holidays are exactly when these events happened, such as Christs birth. anyone else feel this way, or am i wrong?

The problem with the written word is that the all important voice inflection is missing. It can change the whole meaning of what is being said. I've found it to be a problem on occasion. Comments?
