Contrary to what many seem to believe, Jewish women were not considered second class in their society. They were allowed to earn an income, own their own property and were considered individuals in their own right. People need to stop assuming that because one ancient culture did not revere women, all ancient cultures did not. As a matter of fact the Law of Moses established this very clearly. Since this law was handed down by God to Moses it would seem God does not consider women second class.

Getting to the answer of your question. Deborah was a judge. One of the first people to see Jesus when he was brought to the temple after his birth was a women prophet. There is evidence in many parts of the Old Testament that women were prophets. Just because they did not write like the prophets of the Bible does not mean they didn't exist. There is also evidence that many in the early church were women leaders and prophets. The New Testament is just a collection of the disciples writing.

There were female prophets. Marion and others. But when God told Eve that man would rule over woman it was her punishment. So the world is still controlled by men. Men wrote the bible, men bought, purchased, sold, raped, kidnapped and controlled women in biblical days.

They wouldn't have bothered to pay attention to most of the women, even if they were prophets. They wrote about men only, and occasionally a woman made it in their writings. Unfortunately, it was usually to say how beautiful they were for the man. Ugh.

Women where given the right to give birth to Gods gift the children something a man will never be able to do

God made man first and woman second so the woman could show the man how it is "supposed to be done." The Lord just revealed to me that, yes, He did make the majority of the prophets male....but it was the males that scattered and the women who remained and kept believing in their Lord. Thank you, Jesus!

God is not so much sexist as the people He had to communicate with in old testament times.
He knew the majority of people in that time period had a male dominant mind set. After all it WAS the males who did the hunting to bring in food. It WAS the males who formed the armies. It WAS the males who had the hard and hazardous jobs, so society as a whole viewed men as the dominant being.

Jesus came to revise that. He spoke in Galatians Chapter 3:28
"There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither bond nor free, there is neither male nor female: for ye are all one in Christ Jesus."

That makes it pretty clear that in His opinion, all are equal.

Women who claim to be Christians and go on thinking they are superior to men should pay better attention to the teachings of the one they profess to use as an example.

He did use women prophets and judges. Read the Bible carefully. Iy may be that you tend to pick the people someone will listen to. Moses used Aaron ,Jeremiah used Baruch.

There are many female prophets.
Miriam (Moses' sister) in Exodus 15:20
Deborah in Judges 4:4
Huldah in 2Kings 22:14
Noahdia in Nehemiah 6:14
Anna in Luke 2:36

There are two more in Acts...

Because women often change their story when the subject is not present in the room. Look at any mother-in-law relationship for examples.

Seriously, I don't know. It's not like there were no female deities or archetypes in religion before the New Testament was put together. Oddly enough, by a council of men.

in those days men where the heads of everything. Women weren't listened to as much. They didn't have such a high stance in that culture.
