It's between you and God. No one knows your heart better than those two.

There was a study that suggested that many kids who like darker music do so because they have above average intelligence and it resonates with their frustrations as a smart adolescent. Chances are you're smarter than the average kid your age, commonly see adult stupidity for what it is, and enjoy hearing an external realization of your inner turmoil.

Hunny... it's a phase. Girly, try doing some fun things like going to the amusement parks and things to get over the supposed DARK SIDE you speak of. If it goes on... talk to someone because it will turn into hypocricy. I don't think it's quite normal to be into death ♥ in fact it's not normal at all. Basically don't listen to death metal. I know you want to but dont do it because it'll addict you more... K . you better listen to me. I hope you do well and Ill pray for you! wait. its only bad if you are really into death but its not bad if you like for example like to watch horror movies. Yes. the dark side is addicting but thats the whole point of keeping a strong faith and judging right from wrong. THIS IS THE TEST of life.!

I struggle with things like that, too, and I am a Christian. I always justify in my mind that it is just fantasy to me; I know it's not really real and I don't agree with it. I just like the music, or imagining the paranormal. I'm sure there will come a time in my relationship with God that these issues will need to be dealt with, because I know it's not how I should be.
You're not a bad person. We all walk the path at different speeds, and have different issues that may take a lifetime to work out. We won't be perfect until we're in heaven. Don't ever give up on God!

I've been a Christian for 26 years and I like rock and roll. I have always been interested in movies about witches and vampires. Granted watching such movies does not edify God, but I don't think this makes me a bad person or a hypocrite

Bad?? probably not... but you are making some bad choices. I'm sure others will post the scripture to back that up... However when one focuses to much on a single thing like that it tends to take on a life of its' own and can become an obsession to the point of taking over ones' life. That is true weather one believes in God or not. It's like computers "GIGO" Garbage in.. Garbage Out.

I can not judge your character. "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin." Jm 4:17. Does not the conscience bear witness that those things are not of the pure and noble character of Christ. The Lord is coming very soon, and we need to put away anything that will not make it into the kingdom of Heaven.

Nothing wrong with it. My best friend is christian and he listens to Slayer and Deicide. I'm an atheist, and I listen to satanic metal as well as christian metal. If you like the music, that's all that matters. You don't have to agree with the lyrics.

For example, I listen to Cannibal Corpse, but I don't believe having sex with dead bodies is fun. I don't think killing is fun.

Embrace the dark side!

Seriously though, what you're into is just fun stuff. Scary stories and the like. You don't believe any of it's true, so don't worry about it.

I was reading this earlier...as I understand it, it says that if you are in doubt about something you do, and believe it may be wrong, but do it anyway, that is sin for you. As it says, we all give thanks to God, and have faith in His promise. Remain faithful and do what will glorify God, and be a good example to any who meet you because we are to represent Christ. God Bless you. I suggest reading all of Romans and pray about it and ask God if it is what you should be doing, He'll make it clear to you.

Romans 14:5-18

The Complete Jewish Bible
Romans 14 Read This Chapter

14:5
One person considers some days more holy than others, while someone else regards them as being all alike. What is important is for each to be fully convinced in his own mind.

14:6
He who observes a day as special does so to honor the Lord. Also he who eats anything, eats to honor the Lord, since he gives thanks to God; likewise the abstainer abstains to honor the Lord, and he too gives thanks to God.

14:7
For none of us lives only in relation to himself, and none of us dies only in relation to himself;

14:8
for if we live, we live in relation to the Lord; and if we die, we die in relation to the Lord. So whether we live or die, we belong to the Lord -

14:9
indeed, it was for this very reason that the Messiah died and came back to life, so that he might be Lord of both the dead and the living.

14:10
You then, why do you pass judgment on your brother? Or why do you look down on your brother? For all of us will stand before God's judgment seat;

14:11
since it is written in the Tanakh, "As I live, says ADONAI, every knee will bend before me, and every tongue will publicly acknowledge God."

14:12
So then, every one of us will have to give an account of himself to God.

14:13
Therefore, let's stop passing judgment on each other! Instead, make this one judgment - not to put a stumbling block or a snare in a brother's way.

14:14
I know - that is, I have been persuaded by the Lord Yeshua the Messiah - that nothing is unclean in itself. But if a person considers something unclean, then for him it is unclean;

14:15
and if your brother is being upset by the food you eat, your life is no longer one of love. Do not, by your eating habits, destroy someone for whom the Messiah died!

14:16
Do not let what you know to be good, be spoken of as bad;

14:17
for the Kingdom of God is not eating and drinking, but righteousness, shalom and joy in the Ruach HaKodesh.

14:18
Anyone who serves the Messiah in this fashion both pleases God and wins the approval of other people.
