why do some people add and subtract from the bible? what you see is what you get, i just hear some people say "oh i believe in jesus christ and heaven but i dont believe in hell", how can you not believe in hell when the bible states that there is? another thing doesnt the bible state that committing suicide in a sin, but yet i hear people say that "not if you have mental disorders, or if you are emotionally distraught? i dont see that written in the bible anywhere, if you committ suicide thats a sin, you cant repent for that. im an agnostic, but im just confused on how people envison God the way they want him to be and not for who he really is written in the bible. Im not a christian anymore, but when i hear christians say these kinds of things it makes me think that some christians are just plain retarded and dont know what they are talking about, in the us you are taught to believe that christianity is the only solution, so in that aspect its really easy for a less intelligent

When you sin and don't ask for forgiveness, then how are you going to know His love. And if your not willing to ask Him questions how will you be able to intercide with Him. Your owen self-seeking keeps you away from Gods Love and glory. When you sin and refuse His love meaning asking forgivness and knowing He died for us then you harden your heart. You send your self their with hardening your hearts and not seeking God.

Oscar flails his arms and spits and screams "God sucks! God sucks!" I have NEVER utilized such language in my home; we do not own a TV; the children do not attend a nursery; my husband is a respected priest here in our hometown, and the only person he possibly could have heard the word "sucks" from is his nasty 3 year-old cousin. I keep her and her family away from my home and I have Oscar in time-out nearly every 2 seconds, but still he will not obey. If I tell them to go to bed, Felix will run delightedly to his crib but Oscar will just stand there, screaming and bubbling and drooling, absolutely refusing to go and when I tell him Jesus wants him to be a good boy he literally gurgles in tongues. Both have a finely developed sense of speech for their ages but when Oscar is enraged he spits out foreign, twisted words.

I am deeply afraid my son is either an atheist or mentally retarded. I can handle the latter. Please help. How can we train him up correctly, like his brother?

Look this is the truth, I am not trying to convert anyone to Christianity. I am a believer in Jesus Christ , and I try with all my heart to follow the Lord, but I am not trying to get anyone to follow Christ agianst their will. I realize that Christ told us to go and make disciples of all nations.......and I do practice personal evangelism however I realize that no person will come to Christ unless Christ himself draws them to Him. I will tell people about the Lord but I will not beg and plead it is not my place, and it can turn people off to the faith. Why is there so much hostility towards believers in Christ? I believe that I know why but what is your veiw, I would like to know. Try to be nice, I am respectful of your beliefs, return the favor.

I am wondering because I often see things that reflect a poor generalization of agnostics such as they cant make up thier minds about anything.
Are the agnostics you know really like this...cant decide if something is green or teal? I am agnostic and I dont think this way at all when concerning other life decisions. Is this a poor generalization or what?
If the generalization were true would it also be true to say that all atheist have no faith in anything...which by this question you can see isnt entirely true:

This is not directed at any specific religion, however there seem to be many that list several things as sins, but for some reason "homosexuality" is usually specifically isolated as being some sort of mortal sin. I know that there are passages, within the christian spectrum, that alude to the act of sexual relationships between two men, however I find that even the most quoted and seemingly "obvious" ones (most in levit.) are fairly vague. It seems that, generally, people feel so strongly about them while disregarding less vague ones like cutting the hair on a mans temples and eating shellfish (also found in levit.)

First of all I would like to say I am here on vacation , I love the States for different reasons but could never live here one reason is becasue I have been extremely disappointed with the level of ignorance and bigotry present in this country. im 4 months pregnant and me and my husband want to move halfway across the country (back to my home state). we dont have much money and we would have to stay with a friend until he found a job. its a really scary decision to make and we have been praying about it. how do we know what god wants us to do? only he knows our future and whats best for us but i dont know how we are suppose to know what god wants. how do we make the right decision? we have been praying about it for a long time now and we are both still unsure on what to do

I've found myself in a Debate with some Jehova's Witnesses.
The topic is the Divinity of Christ. They don't believe that Christ is God and they won't look at any other source except the Bible.
They won't even look at the writings of the Early Church fathers. Sola Scriptura.
I showed them John Chapter 1 and they said that it was a matter of translation, and Christ is only a messenger that came to tell us the real truth about God.

I will need your help on how to show them that Christ is truly Our God who became man. Any pointers and guidlines will be very much appreciated.!

Why do you deny us the right to coexist in R&S? Though atheists have no religion, does that give you the right to try and force us out? Is it not survival of the fittest that we must be here? We are trying to show you religious evil idiots the light.
