This is not directed at any specific religion, however there seem to be many that list several things as sins, but for some reason "homosexuality" is usually specifically isolated as being some sort of mortal sin. I know that there are passages, within the christian spectrum, that alude to the act of sexual relationships between two men, however I find that even the most quoted and seemingly "obvious" ones (most in levit.) are fairly vague. It seems that, generally, people feel so strongly about them while disregarding less vague ones like cutting the hair on a mans temples and eating shellfish (also found in levit.)

It was a matter of violating the rules of hospitality practiced then not a matter of homosexual sex. Patriarchy is a False God that has yet to be removed from human culture. There have been some steps in this direction often under the power of the Gospel but the battle is not yet over. Women and Men are equal partners. Homosexuals often find sympathy with women who have been victims of patriarchy. Homosexuals challenge the roles which males are assigned by their cultures and thus are threats to those who benefit from patriarchy.
