Christians who support infant baptism note that many times entire families were baptized, not just individuals. It was assumed in the Bible that if the head of a family became a Christian, the entire family would follow suit. (Acts 16:15, 18:8; I Corinthians 1:16; etc.)

Christians who support adult baptism site the conversions from other religions to Christianity in the Bible, and the decision to accept Jesus as an adult decision. (Acts 2:41; 9:18, 10:47; etc.)

This has been a point of contention between denominations for centuries. Both appear to have a biblical basis. What is your position and what is the reason for the strong animosity on this sacramental point?

Is the only reason you object to our belief system because of our desire to share it with you? If it gives us peace, joy, and love and helps us to want a better life for ourselves, why would you object to that? If it helps my children and Grandchildren become more respectful and do well in school, why would you object. Is there anything wrong with teaching the theory of Creation along with the theory of evolution since to the world they are both theories. I believe in respecting people's space and feel absolutely that religion and government must stay separate. You claim sometimes that some Christians are pushy with their religion, which is true because we are all individuals who do things differently, but, you folks also push your belief system on us and act like we are inane if we don't agree. Many of us try to show you respect. Do you show Christian people the same respect? Just curious? Mmm

Each faith teaches thiers is the only path too heaven. I am a Christian I still wonder about somethings as I am sure all of you do. Here is my question.

Millions died before even having the possibility to consider these religions. They died before the religions were revealed or lived outside of an area where they had access to these revelations, so according to your faith, did any of these people even have a chance to go to heaven, even though they never even had a chance to accept reject any of these faiths?

In our modern times it maybe hard imagine but even after all 3 religions were revealed to humanity for much of thier histories most people on this planet died without knowledge of these faiths. Did they have a chance to go to heaven?

If you feel that these people didn't have the chance to go to heaven, doesn't this mean God is a unjust? On the other hand, if they did have a chance, what does that mean according to your faith? Is it really the only way to heaven?

say a christian did more good deeds than others, gave more charity than others, helped more than others, and much more. will he be rewarded equally in heaven with the others who will be there? or heavens has degrees on top of each other, the one on the top has better reward than the one below.

and if your answer was no, all rewarded equally! then how can that be fair? and why would any christian work hard for his deeds if he already will be rewarded the same as others?

evidence supports what you will say is a plus.

Our tenant's lease is up around July 23rd and in the lease it states we need 60 days notice of his intention. Throughout the year, he has been difficult to get a hold of via email and phone and quit his job and got a different cell and email without ever notifying us. It took many, many phone calls, emails and a written letter to finally get the information and when we asked for notice by the 15th of June (this past Fri) of his intention, he still never let us know. We called him all weekend and no answer (despite phone messages). He said he would let us know by Friday if he was staying another year or not. He also has been late with rent more than once. So...we told him, in advance, that we were advertising for a new tenant and have received inquiries. And, if we didn't hear from him by 6pm today, we were renting it to someone else. He never called. Is it rude to let him know that we are not renewing his lease? He's not a bad guy but totally unreliable and disrespectful.

Would it be bad etiquette for me to keep doing what I'm doing right now---which happens to be tooling around on Yahoo Answers? I mean, I guess I should really do my part and wash those dishes. But man, this YA sure is addictive.

Actually, a plan-of-action is dawning upon me in the mesmerizing brain that I possess. I'm thinking that I will go to the kitchen, wash the dishes up really quick, and then come back in here and continue doing what I was previously doing. I think that's a good compromise.

There's this tradition in france where they put two beans in a cake or a pie, I do not remember. But the tradition is that whoever gets the slices of the pie/cake with the bean in it, they get to be queen/king for the day. Does anyone know the name of the dessert?

I believe that when you die your soul cannot live without a body so your soul dies also. Your body is buried, where your soul is really in like a deep slumber state until the second coming as it states in several verses but I'll use 1 Thessalonians 4:16>>For the Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a shout, with the voice of the arch-angel, and with the trump of GOD: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: 17>>Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

It's what I believe....what do you believe????

people with knowledge, please explains to me this verse of which God explained that he pulled out all of our off spring from Adam, and witnessed us that he is our God.

[172] And (remember) when your Lord brought forth from the Children of Adam, from their loins, their seed (or from Adam's loin his offspring) and made them testify as to themselves (saying): "Am I not your Lord?" They said: "Yes! We testify," lest you should say on the Day of Resurrection: "Verily, we have been unaware of this."
Quran 7:172

so those offspring (us) already testified to God that he is God before we even come to birth, does that mean that this life is a 2nd chance for us? does that means we had another life before we came to life?

I'm not religous at all and neither is my husband. I'm baptized Catholic and my husband hasn't been baptized. I know it's very important to my grandmother that my daughter gets baptized. She's 5 already, so I want to do it now. I'm just not sure how to go about doing so. I don't belong to a church. Any advice or suggestions would be great. Thanks!

For far to long the so called “scientific community” has been pushing round earth theory to our children for far too long with out giving the other side a chance to speak.

As such I propose that round earth and flat earth should be given equal time in the classroom.

Reasons for a flat earth: http://www.alaska.net/~clund/e_djublonskopf/Flatearthsociety.htm

So what say you?

I've noticed on many occasions that people object to the use of the phrases "acting black" or "acting white." Why is that?

while I applaud people's effort to be color blind I think these folks are, in fact, simply blind to reality. Saying that two things are different does not imply one is better than the other. So I dont understand why people feel compelled to negate the obvious cultural difference between Black and White.

There are differences between the way Black people and white people TYPICALLY act. There is a different rhythm in speech (regardless of grammar), walk, style of dress, ect. A black church is different than a white church. we decorate or houses different from eachother, we season our food different, and so on. With so many distinctions between black and white how can somebody honestly say there is no such things as "acting black or "acting white?"

4 months ago, she was prescribed something different for an infection, but the doctor didn't tell her that it would make her birth control ineffective. She went to a clinic thatsays it doesabortions. For three months they made her comeback twice a week while they hemmed andhawed about whether she shouldhave an abortion that she wanted Then they said she had only 3 days to get the proceedure done and they couldn't fit her in for another 3 weeks. So, now she is carrying a baby who is going to be born with major birth defects. Do you think she should sue the clinic directors for not telling her they would deny her an abortion, and for the major bills she has to encur to have and raise the baby?
