Amazing Grace. Too bad many churches are going to the popular christian music in their churches. Will Michael W. Smith be in the Hymn books 50 years from now?

high on a mountain top
1. High on the mountain top
A banner is unfurled.
Ye nations, now look up;
It waves to all the world.
In Deseret’s sweet, peaceful land,
On Zion’s mount behold it stand!
2. For God remembers still
His promise made of old
That he on Zion’s hill
Truth’s standard would unfold!
Her light should there attract the gaze
Of all the world in latter days.
3. His house shall there be reared,
His glory to display,
And people shall be heard
In distant lands to say:
We’ll now go up and serve the Lord,
Obey his truth, and learn his word.
4. For there we shall be taught
The law that will go forth,
With truth and wisdom fraught,
To govern all the earth.
Forever there his ways we’ll tread,
And save ourselves with all our dead.
Text: Joel H. Johnson, 1802–1882
Music: Ebenezer Beesley, 1840–1906

I like different songs at different times but here's one of my current favorites.
When We All Get to Heaven
Text: Eliza E. Hewitt
Music: Emily D. Wilson
1. Sing the wondrous love of Jesus;
sing his mercy and his grace.
In the mansions bright and blessed
he'll prepare for us a place.
Refrain:
When we all get to heaven,
what a day of rejoicing that will be!
When we all see Jesus,
we'll sing and shout the victory!
2. While we walk the pilgrim pathway,
clouds will overspread the sky;
but when traveling days are over,
not a shadow, not a sigh.
(Refrain)
3. Let us then be true and faithful,
trusting, serving every day;
just one glimpse of him in glory
will the toils of life repay.
(Refrain>
4. Onward to the prize before us!
Soon his beauty we'll behold;
soon the pearly gates will open;
we shall tread the streets of gold.
(Refrain)

Too many to count. I like them all. It's too hard to determine which one is the best one. I guess my favorite one is the one that lifts my spirit the most but they all do so it's hard to choose. So I could say any of the following: In Him Alone, How Lovely is Your Dwelling Place, Sandalwood, Lord You are My Shepherd, The God of Silence, I Love the Lord, etc.

Any song that causes the Holy Spirit to flow. I have found many many songs that this is true for:
Amazing Grace
Who Am I
Amazing Love (You are the king)
Awesome God
Pledge Allegiance To the Lamb
If We Are the Body
Voice of Truth (Casting Crowns)
The Hammer (ray boltz)
Watch the Lamb
Lion of Judah (Paul Wilber)
Daddy's Song
among many many others. :) If you haven't heard "Who Am I" or "The Hammer"....... you really should. Apply them to yourself when listening/singing.

I Come To The Garden Alone...frequently I hum it to myself. I started doing this after a near-death experience many years ago. It always reminds me of that time.
