4 months ago, she was prescribed something different for an infection, but the doctor didn't tell her that it would make her birth control ineffective. She went to a clinic thatsays it doesabortions. For three months they made her comeback twice a week while they hemmed andhawed about whether she shouldhave an abortion that she wanted Then they said she had only 3 days to get the proceedure done and they couldn't fit her in for another 3 weeks. So, now she is carrying a baby who is going to be born with major birth defects. Do you think she should sue the clinic directors for not telling her they would deny her an abortion, and for the major bills she has to encur to have and raise the baby?

She obviously went to the wrong clinic. I've never heard of an abortion clinic that hemmed and hawed about doing an abortion.
Did she go to one of those places that "helps her decide" what to do until it's too late to do anything about the pregnancy?
I don't know that it would help, but I don't think it would hurt to consult an attorney...

It wasnt her doctor's responsibility to tell her that the antibiotics would weaken her birth control, that was the pharmacy's responsibility and she was also handed literature about the antibiotic she was taking, side effects and such, which she should have read because it will state on there that birth control will become ineffective. She could not have the abortion will treating an infection. And not to judge her but why was she having sex while having an infection in the first place? Did she not know she can pass that infection to her boyfriend? If the clinic kept putting her off for 3 months why did she not go to another clinic?

How do you know this baby will be born with major birth defects?

Heavens! Was it one of those 'pregnancy crisis center' where they trick you into believing they'll help you, but end up preaching to you instead? Unfortunately, if they are labeled a 'pregnancy crisis center' the law probably won't support her, but if it was labeled 'abortion clinic' - sue the crap out of them and if you do, make sure to try and pull in the media, so anyone currently going to the clinic will be forewarned.

YES! Sue the crap outta them and use the money to help support the child and the medical problems they may face.
