We purchased a 44 yr old house last fall. Our old house was 40 yrs old. This is a 2 story. Some nights I can hear medium sized person foot steps coming up to the stairs. They stop in front of my bedroom door as if to look inside the room. I will get up. No one there. Our dog will be either downstairs or she will literally RUN into my room and lie down quickly. No one else is up. Weird. Does anyone believe in ghosts? Spirits in the house?? This has happened just a few times. Also, "knocking around" type noises downstairs a couple of times. I check...no one there.

Why is it, when I speak of what we as muslim women do in "islamic" countries, people like to spout "go live there and then say that". WHy is it when in that very same question when I state we did this in those countries and nothing happened to us, the people ignore that? When I was visiting Pakistan, and even lived there for months at a time, I had the same freedom of speech I use in the US. I refused to participate in many traditions that were not islamic, and stated that as my reason as well, and nothing happened to me. I was invited to dance many times at the weddings, but refused and said in front of everyone "no, because I am a muslim woman, and I am not about to dance where men can see me". I went shopping, with just the other women and no men, many times, even in Quetta.

Why do people want to ignore the facts and believe what the media shows them, of a desert and people dressed in rags? Most muslims are not living like that, so why keep using the stereotype?

The bible teaches that... the "flesh is weak" that "natural man" is evil... that we are basically born into sin and that the "will" of the flesh is evil?

does anyone seriously BUY that?
and why, why, why...?

What a horrible thing to believe in....let alone to teach your children....

Dear Ladies:

I have been inspired by Kallan and Titus. Inspired to ask a more rounded question that might appeal to many denominations. This is for any and all. Be it a chapel veil, a hijab or a tischel.

How many of you cover your heads?

What inspired you to do so?

How do you feel about it?

I began about 2 years ago. First just a chapel veil. I'm a Catholic. I bought an almost invisible black veil which I began wearing during mass. With all the hair I have it's impossible to see unless you're close up.

I was very self conscious. I didn't want people to think I was falsely pious. It has evolved to a much more comfortable place. I wear a lot of scarves which I have learned to tie in many ways. I even wear snoods to work now.

I cover for my Lord. I feel he called me to it. I responded gladly. I see them more and more in church now. And more ladies covering all the time. I find them to be an excellent reminder to pray without ceasing. (1 Thess.)

or is the those people who think that minorities lower property value that really lower property value.

so if we replaced all these the people who feel this way in these neighborhoods with upstanding, hardworking minorites....would the property values stay the same?

i think so

(sorry for the "who's on first" type question)

6 – represents the worship of man, and is the number of man, signifying his rebellion, imperfection, works, and disobedience. used 273 times in the Bible, including its derivatives (e.g, sixth) and another 91 times as “threescore” or “60.” Man was created on the sixth day (Genesis 1:26, 31). THE CONDITION OF THE WORLD BEFORE THE 6TH SEAL

1 Thes. 5:2-3,
For you yourselves know full well that the day of the Lord will come just like a thief in the night. While they are saying, Peace and safety! then destruction will come upon them suddenly like birth pangs upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
Know this first of all
that in the latter days
mockers will come with mocking
following their own lusts, and saying
Where is the promise of His coming?
6th Seal
Rev 6:12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake;
and the sun became black the moon became blood red. (Lunar eclipse)

Do you fear God?

and don't you think it's sad to FEAR God? I mean, how terrible that must feel.

I am not being cheap or non traditional, but it seems to me there is a billion willion zillion pounds market for all sorts of cards and we are wasting so much money on this every year. There is also the environmental angle with the waste of paper. I don't see why we can't just keep the birthday card we buy our partner for example and bring it out next year and maybe update it every decade or so with a new card purchase.

I suppose most people still have the image of Jesus from an illustrated Children's Bible stuck in their minds. Jesus is all sweetness and light and he loves children. Further when mentioning the horrible things in the O.T. some will try and say that the New Testament is not as bad. Yet Christians also expect you to believe that Jesus was there from the very beginning and that the passages in Genesis referring to "us" refer to the trinity etc. So Jesus was there with the O.T. God and he commanded the killing of women, children, animals and frequantly complete genocide. Further far worse than the O.T. God he actually want's to turn the world into a slaughter house in Revelation and he condemns millions of people to eternal damnation. Frequent New Testament passages refer to Jesus as not bringing peace but the sword. Of him wanting to set the world ablaze and can't wait to do it. He acts aggressively and judges others calling them "serpents" and "dogs".

im catholic by birth

but i hate religion

maybe its got something to do with me being homosexual, i dont know

but i've been aethist ever since i was 9.

my parents dont approve, and im sick of everyone telling me that god says i should "repent my sins".
whatever.
as far as im concerned, how can someone talk in the name god?

religion is evil in my own opinion. you don't have to agree. it just makes everything difficult.

war, violence, you name it

thats my crappy 2 cents
