i want to make a bumper sticker out of it

There are a multitude of religions on this planet, not to mention those who subscribe to the idea that all religion is wrong. How can I determine which is th correct viewpoint, without first accepting any single one of them as the truth?

In other words, what objective standard can I use to determine where I should be?

Is faith just another word for hope?

You hope there will be justice after you die, you hope that this life does not end, you hope some father figure(God/Allah) will take care of you forever and ever. You hope the cruel will be punished and the good will be rewarded. You hope that your religion among all the others is the right one. ......but hoping for something to be true does not make it true does it???

To say there is no God, wouldn't you have to search the universe and know everything... wouldn't you have to be omniscient (which means you are God)? Would this disprove the very position you're trying to prove?

I am in a relationship with a girl that I love dearly. Well today after reading an email that she sent me, it sounds like she has feelings for the old lover, and i am the rebound man. That is a problem because if we want to be close, then she has to let go of the past. It will cause problems if she doesn't.

I have been praying the whole time that God would either open the door or close it, and i think it might be closing.

Just please pray that God will grant me patience, strength, and understanding and that His will be done in my life....

Thanks in Advance

I was wondering about Romans 10:17:

So then faith [cometh] by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

Does this scripture apply to deaf people or people who are all alone and unable to hear the Word of God? What if they study the Bible intently every day? If they are unable to hear, can they still grow in faith?

Mithra had many parallels with Jesus. And one of the most striking ones was the last supper. Mithra was also believed to have held a last supper with his (twelve!) apostles before dying and going to heaven. Mithra would have spoken:
"He who shall not eat of my body or drink of my blood, so that he may be one with me and I with him, shall not be saved."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
To give you a taste of just how strikingly close the parallels are, we’ll give you two quick examples – about the creation of Adam from clay, and Eve from Adam’s rib:
The Instruction for Merikare (Egypt, 2100 BC): The first human is breathed to life through his nose:“He [the sun god Ra] gave the breath of life to their noses, for they are likenesses of Him which issued from His flesh”
Sumerian mythology: The goddess Ninhursag takes out one of the ribs of Enki, another god. Then she makes a woman out of the rib, ‘Ninti’ – literally: ‘lady of the rib’.
That's all I have to highlight atm.
Yahh, the Catholic Church has made a few controversial missteps in the past... like many "holy wars" for instance that had no real catalyst or reason behind them... those were merely men just looking for a reason to kill and they used their religion as an excuse (not just Christianity either).
Also, men in power (like the previous popes) who controlled everything were drunk with it and actually led themselves to believe that they were like god's themselves so they took the authority to just kill whoever they felt didn't fit human standards based on beliefs.
Consider Bush as the new "I rule the world" mental case... he decided to walk into Iraq for what reason? I think it's something like 300,000+ Iraqis killed comparatively to the 3,000 U.S killed? That's honestly a disgrace... i actually heard stories about some U.S troops walking the streets and meetin a status quo for kills ina day.
And Bush is no model Christian either.
So you decide, God's will? Or Human Tyranny?
Jesus Christ is alive today more surley that any 100% true fact that you can name. He is changing peoples lives, giving them hope, peace and salvation. He makes his presence known to them that love Him.
I would like to read your testimony or something wonderful that the Lord has done for you recently.
I never doubted the existence of heaven, until recently. Someone told me that he thought maybe there is no afterlife, maybe this is all there is, and when we die we're just snuffed out like a candle.
Religion crumbles when faced with hard scientific facts. There is no proof that there is a god, but so many people believe so strongly that there is. I guess it all comes down to what you believe. Some of the most important truths are those you cannot prove because all you have is your belief in them. But it's scary, isn't it, the thought that we might just be snuffed out.
