THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS IN THE BIBLE THAT CONTRADICT ITSELF.
Have you read the Bible? If so, why have you overlooked your suspicions and questions and feelings of "That doesn't sound right?" or "That doesn't make sense."
YOU PEOPLE... will you EVER learn that the Bible was WRITTEN BY MAN! If those who wrote the Bible were inspired by God, then why does the Vatican keep so many other books out? Why has the Vatican kept so much of the truth hidden? BECAUSE THEY ARE MAN NO MATTER HOW "CLOSE" TO GOD THEY CLAIM TO BE.
Get effin' logical. I believe in God, and that God is Love and I believe in A LOT of the Bible. But, theres a sufficient amount of BS. You've read it, too. You just say to yourself, "Well, God wanted this then, and it's different now."
NO! God is Universal. God does not favor one race, person, thing over another. God is Love, and that is why the Bible is confusing. That is why JESUS, HIMSELF, said God is Love. You read the words of Jesus and read the Bible. They do not match up in ways more than one.
God is Love. The Bible was written by MAN... MEN! MARY WROTE A BOOK OF THE BIBLE, TOO. There's a lot we all don't know, and it infuriates me to see us struggle like a herd of confused cattle. We eat what is fed to us, and barely look at each other's plates. WHY?!

Because love is defined biblically, not culturally. The love of God is holy, just and omipotent. He rightly condemns sinners to their just reward, damnation. Our problem is we want to blame God for our sins and our sinfulness, so that when He chooses to judge us, we see him as somehow wrong or evil.
The fact that God is merciful and stays His hand and saves some for His glory is the true sign of love. That Christ came down and set aside His glory to muck around with the likes of us, and to die in our stead, is the mystery of all mysteries. God is love because He saves those who do not deserve it, nor want it.

"God is love" is a new testament idea. Joshua is an old testament book, and reflects a primitive understanding of the nature of god.

The god of the Bible - old testament - is acually a group of space aliens who came here from outer space in ships. We thought they were gods and they tricked and manipulated us into believing it. The REAL God is love, but wants us to learn and grow in wisdom.
