I never doubted the existence of heaven, until recently. Someone told me that he thought maybe there is no afterlife, maybe this is all there is, and when we die we're just snuffed out like a candle.
Religion crumbles when faced with hard scientific facts. There is no proof that there is a god, but so many people believe so strongly that there is. I guess it all comes down to what you believe. Some of the most important truths are those you cannot prove because all you have is your belief in them. But it's scary, isn't it, the thought that we might just be snuffed out.

Darcy. Belief is like you knowing that you love your mom and dad even if you don't offer physical proof of it every day. Faith is an every day walk with God. It's just as tangible as your friendship with your best friend, that nothing will break it. Your relationship with Jesus Christ is the same way.

Jesus Christ told the truth while he was here on this earth. He said he would go to prepare a place for us with many mansions. Of course that is heaven. And Jesus was resurrected from the dead. So Jesus has power over death and hell. And there will be a resuurrection of the dead, of all men, women, and children who ever lived on this earth. That's what the Bible tells us. So no need to think this is all there is to life.

Anyway science cannot explain how life began here on earth. And life seemd to spring from nonliving things. So how do they know that our lives end at death? I hope my answer helps you. God bless you in your walk of faith. I believe in heaven because Jesus said so. That's good enough for me. And that is simple faith. Nothing complicated about that.

Understand that science is made through math....math is a man made method to prove the unknown to make it known...to believe in something brings hope to the hopeless and gives some people a reason for being in existence. Say there is a heaven and you are saved....well then you are good then right. Well say there is no heaven and you are saved...well it was nice to believe just in case right. Well then what if there is a heaven and you are not saved...opps...to hell you go. See it is all based on faith, just like science and everything else on our beautiful planet. this is a great question and I am glad I had the opportunity to answer it. God bless

That depends on what being "snuffed out" is. From a Buddhist perspective, this is the ultimate goal, for as we exist now, it is simply a cycle of birth and death for countless aeons. The Buddha said that everyone has experienced countless births and deaths and that oceans could be filled with our tears of suffering in those lives, so the goal is to be 'snuffed out', and in fact that is what the original word "nibbana" meant, it was used to describe an oil lamp extinguishing.

Also, in Buddhism, this "nibbana" is supposed to be absolute peace and contentment, so it's not exactly being nothing, but it's not existing either. Perhaps the experience of being nothing is being, and knowing, peace. But I don't know for myself, so I could just be talking crap :), but meditating (being content and letting go of everything in each moment) sure does feel goooooooooood. ^_^

Hello and no God does not remove all doubt, He is A God of Choice, the reason we understand there is a God at all is because of The Holy Bible, it was written over a 1500 year period by 44 authors but it does not disagree with itself, also prophecy and Archaeology, there is MORE then enough proof of its being inspired, this world and humans are much to complex for it to have just happened and believe me there has not by satan or any other person anyone who came up with a idea of how we got here that makes more scence than The bibles account, also heaven, in Isaiah 14:12-15 we read satan has/had a "i" problem but in Isaiah 53 we understand Jesus has just the opposite, okay when asked about His kingdom Jesus replyed in Luke 17:21 Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you. Now there will be a time when Christ will return for those who are ready for Him who's hearts are made ready we read in 1 Thess. 4:13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
4:14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
4:15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive [and] remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
4:17 Then we which are alive [and] remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
4:18 Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

True religion won't conflict with TRUE science. Look out at the stars, watch the sunrise, watch the sunset, watch the sea come in, the sea go out. Look at the miracle of life. Yes! There is a Creator and yes! there is a Heaven! I know this to be true, I once did not believe but God spoke to me and I know it's true just as I know the sun will rise tomorrow!

What scientific hard facts?

IS or IS NOT Pluto a planet.

ARE there are ARE THERE NOT Tachyons

Show me a QUARK

Show me a video documentation of a fish becoming a bird

Death is enevitable, GOD says so, and so does science

Is there a heaven, who knows, is there really a "life planet" 30 light years away, who knows.

Live your life and be careful who you believe in and follow.

If you do anything in life, do the right thing.

Actually, there is much proof that the God of the Bible exists, it depends on who you listen to. If you ask atheists, and whosoever takes up a reproach against God and you will receive their beliefs, leaving out information that is vital-either ignorantly or willingly. If you ask those who put their trust in a God of redemption from the woes of this world, then you will receive sufficient evidence that He does exist. Our hearts lean towards believing that which it wishes to believe that is why the Bible tells us not to lean upon our own understanding, but upon the word of God.

I must ask first if you are a Christian. That aside, if you are, you know that there is a heaven.

Science is bologna when it comes to God. Man could never figure Him out if they tried for a million years.

Sometimes I wonder about heaven, about where it is, what I'll do when I'm there. But I've never really doubted its existence, which is why your question really interested me. Sometimes I wonder if Christianity is really the way. But I know that for sure. Just like I know that Jesus created a place for me when I die.

not only heaven but also hell

Lake Of Fire
----------------
Album: Unplugged

NIRVANA

Where do bad folks go when they die?
They don't go to heaven where the angels fly
They go down to the lake of fire and fry
Won't see them again till the fourth of July

I knew a lady who came from Duluth
She got bit by a dog with a rabid tooth
She went to her grave just a little too soon
And she flew away howling on the yellow moon

Now the people cry and the people moan
And they look for a dry place to call their home
And try to find some place to rest their bones
While the angels and the devils
Fight to claim them for their own

Yes, there is a Heaven. Not superstitious or heaven is just fiction. Heaven can be INSIDE everyone of us. But some people could not find it. Some people think when you're doing good and you die, you'll go to heaven, but to me, when you're doing good or make other happy, you feel peace inside of you and make you happy too. Happy/peace is the key to heaven, so when you find the key, you would unlock the door to heaven.
Heaven is about peace and happiness. So when you did something bad to others, you feel guilty, angry and scared. That's mean there is no heaven inside you
