Jehovah's Witnesses hold a belief you have to be very careful of. If you don't catch their errant Greek renderings and the logical fallacies that fill their apologetics, well, they can be very convincing. They are a cult by definition, not by insult. I'm not saying to be mean to them, and if you already believe their tenets, then neither am I trying to insult you. I just don't believe that they hold a saving faith, as much as they try to fit within mainstream Christianity.

How easy it is to throw out the mindless response, "They are a cult." That requires no real investigation, no real examination, no discernment; it is just a catch-all phrase that means any religion you disagree with, or that is not your own.

But if anyone really compares Jehovah's Witnesses with the record of those who served God faithfully in the Scriptures, he or she will find a match. Jehovah's Witnesses are a continuation of those who served God loyally down through the ages.

We do not get our doctrines from "angels," but from the Holy Bible. We do not believe in the distortions of Scripture that have overtaken the churches from the 4th century on. That's why our beliefs differ in some ways from other religions that claim to be Christians. We hold to what the Bible says, not to man-made creeds, dogmas, or interpretations.

Put simply, a Jehovah's Witness is a loyal, Bible-believing servant of the only true God, Jehovah, following the faithful example of God's Son, the Lord Jesus Christ.. (John 17:3)

Well Jehovah is Gods actual name...it was taken out of most Bibles & replaced with Lord, but find any old King James or old original Bible & you will find His name...so Witnesses are just that, they are Witnesses of Jehovah God. They are the only religion that bears his name with his approval! They preach the good news of the kingdom as told to them from the Bible, they are witnessing. That is where the name Jehovahs' Witness came from...they are Gods true people. They follow the commandments set forth, to go out & preach, to witness to all...

They are wonderful people who go on and preach the good news of the Kingdom to others, just like Jesus did when he was here on earth. They firmly believe in the Bible to be the word of God. To learn more about Jehovah's Witnesses, it is best to go onto the official website:

http://www.watchtower.org

You are going to get a lot of negative answers from others on here, so it is best to seek information from the source itself. It is best to learn about Jehovah's Witnesses from Witnesses themselves, right? And it would definately be even better if you contacted your local Kingdom Hall and ask the Witnesses face to face, they would be glad to answer all of your questions.

Isaiah 43: “YOU are my witnesses,” is the utterance of Jehovah, “even my servant whom I have chosen, in order that YOU may know and have faith in me, and that YOU may understand that I am the same One. Before me there was no God formed, and after me there continued to be none.

we worship every week at the Kingdom Hall. We go door to door talking about the Kingdom. When Jesus was on earth he preached that the Kingdom of God was near.
We pray the Lord's Prayer for thy Kingdom to come "on earth" as it is in heaven,
.
We believe the earth is our reward. The meek will inherit the earth
And the Kingdom of God is in the heavens. We are to be ruled from this Kingdom by Jesus Christ , Lord of Lords and King of Kings.

i always wonder too, what jw's 'do' at church. i expect it's probably because there is a lot of myth and misinformation put out there. i did wonder though. someone said that holidays and birthdays are man made. but so are most modernday faiths. jw christianity muslims.. all were started by a human individual..does that not make them man made ???? i always find interest in what our ancestors used to do in the way of worship. none of it was instigated by a person. it just followed the earth cycle.saying that i have no preference for any faith in any sector....causes too much upset.

A "Jehovah's Witness" is an adherent of the religion known formally as "Christian Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses".

Jehovah's Witnesses are relatively unique among self-described Christians in that they understand the Scriptures to teach that God's Kingdom by Christ Jesus is a real government which will soon replace all earthly governments.
(Daniel 2:44) God of heaven will set up a kingdom... It will crush and put an end to all these kingdoms, and it itself will stand to times indefinite

That Kingdom will rule over the vast majority of mankind, most of whom will have been raised from the dead after Armageddon.
(John 11:23,24) Jesus said to her: “Your brother will rise.” Martha said to him: “I know he will rise in the resurrection on the last day.”
(Acts 24:15) There is going to be a resurrection of both the righteous and the unrighteous.

Until that resurrection, there is no suffering in "hell", or the grave. Sometime after the resurrection, death and "hell" will themselves be destroyed.
(Ecclesiastes 9:5) For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all
(Ecclesiastes 9:10) there is no work nor devising nor knowledge nor wisdom in Sheol ["hell"]
(Revelation 20:14) And death and Hades ["hell"] were hurled into the lake of fire

While a limitted number of humans will be resurrected to heaven to share in ruling over mankind, the vast majority (literally more than 99.9%) of Jehovah's Witnesses expect an EARTHLY hope, the same hope given to Adam and Eve.
(Genesis 1:28) God blessed them and God said to them: “Be fruitful and become many and fill THE EARTH and subdue it [caps added]
(Genesis 2:17) You must not eat from it, for in the day you eat from it you will positively die [so never eating from that tree means never dying]

Interestingly, the Scriptures are full of references to this earthly hope.
(Psalms 37:11) 'the meek will possess the earth'
(Proverbs 2:21) 'upright will reside in the earth'
(Isaiah 45:18) 'God formed the earth to be inhabited'
(Matthew 5:5) 'the mild will inherit the earth'
(Revelation 21:3) The tent of God is with mankind

a Jehovah's witness has but one message...and that is to preach the good news of the kingdom of God on earth as it is in heaven, soon ,just as in Noah's day this world will be abolished and Satan's dominion over mankind will be finite.Jehovah's witnesses are relaying a message from God and that message is GET OUT OF HER> get out of the world of false religion, the world of Satan. soon, very soon Jehovah will burst open a can of you know what on Satan and his crew.soon God will bust a move on all the evil on this planet,if you do not agree with that statement agree on one thang...EVIL IS IN THIS WORLD. do you want to be part of this world Satan rules or do you want to GET OUT OF HER?
