The apostle Paul, in his second letter to the Thessalonians, foretold the great apostasy which would result in the establishment of the this evil mans power. He declared that the day of Christ should not come, "except there come a falling away first, and that a man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God." And furthermore, the apostle warns his brethren that "the mystery of iniquity doth already work." 2 Thess. 2:3,4,7. Even at that early date he saw, creeping into the church, errors that would prepare the way for this most evil man

If he is, then that would explain why he's able to wreak so much havoc in our lives.

If he isn't, then God allows - and therefore, tacitly condones - Satan's shenanigans, right?

I am getting married in July. In the invitations i sent out rsvp cards, had them self addressed and stamped. so far, only 25 people have responded. i need a count for food, etc. The wedding is small, just immediate family only, afterwhich, we will go to the reception site for food and drinks. Than, i sent out invitations for other family members and friends to join us for drinks and dancing. sort of like 2 differant receptions. the wedding is at 3 p.m. and the second half of the reception starts at 6:30. we have very limited space, which is why i am doing it this way, so the food can be put away to make room for dancing. If i don't have an accurate head count, i don't know how much alcohol, food etc. to buy. What do with people that show up but did not rsvp?

How can there be no controversy between Christianity against extraterrestrial life? How about the 6 days creation?

If only intelligent ET lives and we can communicate with them, do we have to spread the "Good News that Jesus had died for their sins" to them?

1. Why do so many Christians mention "hell" to Atheists?

Is it because they figure if it worked for them, it will work for us?

Dont you know "hell" to us, is like the "boogie man" to you? It's completely fake. There's not even a doubt in my mind

my exboyfriend is an atheist. he always claimed that morality (truthfulness, honesty, faithfulness, etc) was an innate human quality and that you need not believe in God to know right from wrong. we were very much in love and ready to move in together, and the week we were supposed to sign our lease, he cheated on me with his ex-girlfriend? is it human nature to be promiscuous, or just a guy thing perhaps? does he need god?

I live in Australia, most Muslims I see practice a distorted westernized version of Islam (eg. they only pray when it suits them, many girls wear make up and tight clothing, but still wear a headscarf - kind of a contradiction, many drink alcohol, sleep with kafour, and gamble, ETC(they seem more Munafiq than Muslim)... and many more have melted into the Western social fabric of Australia and say that Islam is too old fashioned but still call themselves Muslims, but live like regular Westerners. I have met very few Muslims who REALLY practice Islam and make it the integral part of their life....what is happening here? why is Islam slipping away from these people? is this a global trend or just a phenomena in Western countries? any thoughts or opinions?

I work as a PT nanny for a very wealthy family with two wonderful sons. Last week while my employer asked if I would drive her elderly Uncle to the store and then pick him up after he was done with his shopping. I took the kids with me and we drove down the street. I helped him carry his bags into his condo he insisted I take a small 'tip'.

I refused at first but he insisted and I thanked him. I am a college student, and it helped me put a little extra gas in my tank until payday. A really nice gentleman, very outgoing and fun. We had a nice conversation during the trip, and I left thinking how thoughtful his gesture was, and helpful!

A few days later neice (my employer) was counting out the money for my weekly wage, and told me that she was going to subtract 'x' amount, because her Uncle told her what he did and she told him she did not mind for me to do errands for people. She laughed and said she doesn't know why he feels the need to do that. I was really confused and hurt.

I plan on going to the principal of my school soon, and asking to start organizing an after-school, Student Led, Christian Bible Study... to all those ppl who think this is a violation of the Separation of Church and State... look up the Federal Equal Access Act, before you post anything..

but when i approach the principle i want to have some statistics with me to prove how this will benefit students and the school, make the agreement to have the club, w/o going through a legal debate

specifically:
What percentage of kids attended before/after school bible don't drop out?

What percentage of kids attended before/after school bible studys grades improve after attending said club?

Statistics like this... does anyone have any webpages with said stats? or knows them off the top of their head

My second question: how about masturbation? it's a process right? first comes the stimulation, then the orgasm, and the ejaculation..at what point does it become a sin? is it already a sin when you're just stimulating it, or you need to ejaculate for the masturbation to be a sin? I hope the first ones who answered my question would also answer this..but anyone is free to answer if you have the knowledge..

Why do some "Christians" feel it is OK to live like the rest of the world, dress like hooker, party, cuss, tell dirty jokes, watch R rated movies, listen to Non-Christian music, etc.
Do you think this stuff pleases God? Is it a good witness to those who are looking to us for a Godly example?
Why do you feel it is alright??

no where in the bible does it say that God wants us to sin, or we have to sin. The bible tells us we are slave's to sin, he has the key's. I can put many bible verses here that tell's us we can be perfect in rightousness.

seek ye first the kingdom of God and his rightousness, and ALL these things will be added to you. SEEK for ALL his rightousness. God is a God who can do all things, He can make you perfect, if you only seek or ask him to. Unless you belive God can not do all things. be ye therefore perfect, even AS your father which is in heaven is perfect. Matt 5:48.
Romans 3:10 there is none rightous, NO, NOT ONE. he is yelling at you because you are not rightous.....NO, NOT ONE.
The cross itself tells you you should be rightous, look how God displayed his love for you. The nails in his hands, the wipe on his back. You are all falling short to the glory of God, why do you not want the glory of God? If it was not for Jesus you would have not had the glory of God?

Does anyone think we might convert one of them, is it possible that is what they are hoping for, as stranger things have happened. Maybe one of them would love to be a Christian, I am sure that is the reason they are in here could I be right?

not one not two, but several
not happy common day things, horrible inevitable events
not things one would wish for, but would dread ie death of family member...illnesses...911... some times pleasant ones too... all implausible...all unstoppable...always inevitable

I am especially interested in the religious take on this. I am aware of the scientific angle.

I 'd like to know WHY WHY WHY. what does it mean?
