no where in the bible does it say that God wants us to sin, or we have to sin. The bible tells us we are slave's to sin, he has the key's. I can put many bible verses here that tell's us we can be perfect in rightousness.

seek ye first the kingdom of God and his rightousness, and ALL these things will be added to you. SEEK for ALL his rightousness. God is a God who can do all things, He can make you perfect, if you only seek or ask him to. Unless you belive God can not do all things. be ye therefore perfect, even AS your father which is in heaven is perfect. Matt 5:48.
Romans 3:10 there is none rightous, NO, NOT ONE. he is yelling at you because you are not rightous.....NO, NOT ONE.
The cross itself tells you you should be rightous, look how God displayed his love for you. The nails in his hands, the wipe on his back. You are all falling short to the glory of God, why do you not want the glory of God? If it was not for Jesus you would have not had the glory of God?

we are already made perfect.

2 Corinthians 5:21[kjv]For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

we grow into the image of JESUS day by day.

JESUS didnt come to the world to condemn it there is one who accuse us before GOD which is the devil.JESUS came to set us free and crush the devil under our feet.

John 3:17[kjv]For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.

JESUS loves you.Have u recieved JESUS for the forgiveness of your sins?

John 3:16[kjv] For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.

so when we believe in JESUS we have eternal life.JESUS lived a sinless life and gave up his life as a sacrifice so we can be sin free. Ask JESUS to come into your heart and forgive ur sins and cleanse ur past with the blood JESUS shed on the cross.

With a simple prayer like above u can be saved.JESUS loves u and wants u to be saved.

The only perfect man died on a cross for our sins that we may go to heaven and be forgiven of these sins b/c we are born sinners.

You can not be perfect. It is about progression my friend, not perfection. He does it for you. He molds and shapes you. Its not you.

When the original sin entered the world it changed things. We now knew the knowledge of good and evil where we hadn't before. You can not now just take that knowledge away b/c you are trying to be perfect.

God can make you perfect b/c he can do all things but I don't see anywhere in the Bible that says any human will ever be perfect. Its to try to attain but that is why Jesus died b/c we will never get to heaven without a savior.

Thoughts are sins, unforgiveness is a sin, we are born sinning, be careful my friend in your attempts to be perfect.............. trying is just honorably failing.

God Bless

your last sentence says it If not for Jesus. We cannot be perfect execept through him, you can't do it, you cannot perfect yourself, you must give yourself over to Christ. This is what your pastor is telling you, you can't do it only God can do it

No person is capable of complete righteousness. Only God is righteous. I can point to many verses that also say that. All we can do is all we can do. We are saved by faith...not by works.
