The apostle Paul, in his second letter to the Thessalonians, foretold the great apostasy which would result in the establishment of the this evil mans power. He declared that the day of Christ should not come, "except there come a falling away first, and that a man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition; who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God." And furthermore, the apostle warns his brethren that "the mystery of iniquity doth already work." 2 Thess. 2:3,4,7. Even at that early date he saw, creeping into the church, errors that would prepare the way for this most evil man

The answer is simple. It has to do with a pope since the time of Emperor Constantine. Look in any faithful encyclopedia for the word SUNDAY LAW. Also, read the Catholic Cathecism on points of faith dealing with day of worship. Pure Christianity married with Pagan Rome. Pagan Rome became the Roman Catholic Church. This is the source for all pagan ideas into Christianity. You are right in all your chosen texts; and they all have to do with the same system---- THE PAPACY!! It takes honesty to say this today because the world is blind in following the beast. The book of Revelation truly reveals to this religious system in chapters 17 and 18. Rome is the city of seven heals look in those chapter and you will see that harlot seating upon the beast ( which is the corrupt church seating upon the government of power and control the government) the very word seven mountains in the text no doubt means the territory of Rome. Rome is universally known as the city of seven hills and God is trying to warn us about her. She has a golden cup in her hands; in that cup is her wine; this wine is her false doctrine that she makes the inhabitants of the earth drunk with; the world is drunk with her false intoxicating teaching. The true church is in Revelation chapter 12. The false is in chapter 17 and 18. I can not say everything for lack of space. If you want to know more or have a question, send me an e-mail.

The Church isn't a building or a denomination...it is the body of believers in Christ. There has been a tremendous falling away from the truth for some time.
In this 2nd letter to the Thessalonians, Paul was assuring them that they were not in the tribulation. Someone had impersonated him in a letter and had this group of Christians distressed and thinking that they had been left behind.
The "man" is the antichrist. Paul was telling them of events that would come first before the "son of perdition" (the antichrist) would be revealed.
By the way... these are some frightening statistics. This is just a short version since I do not have them in front of me.

I will not mention denominations, but between 60&85% of PREACHERS in several different denominations say they DO NOT believe that the Bible is the inerrant word of God, DO NOT believe that Jesus was born of a virgin, DO NOT believe in the resurection of Jesus, and DO NOT believe that Jesus is the son of God. They believe these things are just folklore.
The scariest thing about these statistics is that they are from 1991!!!!! How many more people do you think have fallen away in 16 years with false teachers behind the pulpit in these so called churches.
Much prayer from true believers is needed today more than ever for the truth from the word to be taught. The Church is in dire need of a true revival.

I believe that this church was the roman catholic church, but that's just my opinion. When early men of power used the church to scare people into giving them all their money and devoting their lives to the governors. Maybe Constantine is the man they speak of. Back then the Bible was in Latin only and the priests taught the laymen. It was illegal to translate the Bible into the language of normal people, because they would figure out the church was bad.

The important thing is, the apostasy occurred and the restitution of all things occurred as well. Jesus' church was restored!!!!!

He is talking about satan when he comes to earth and sits in Jerusalem in the holy temple claiming to be Christ / God. When he is called the son (note small " s ") of perdition it is in reference to the fact that satan is already condemned to death. Perdition means likely to die. And the falling away or apostasy is in reference to the fact that most of the world in their ignorance will actually believe satan is the real Christ returned. At that time satan will perform miracles in the sight of man to fool even "God's elect " if that were possible. And for the sake of the elect those day will be shortened lest no flesh should survive. And finally what the object / subject is of course is, what happens just prior to the 2nd coming of the real Christ. That there is no fly away . We will all be right here to witness these happenings.

I believe we are seeing the falling away in the Church as a whole across every denomination. I don't believe it is just one particular denomination.
The majority of Paul's letters deal with problems in most of the Churches he wrote to even at that early date.

I believe it is fastly approaching with Episcopalian church allowing gay priests and Margaret Schouri a Priestess confirmed and she promotes and pushes for gay acceptance in God's house of worship. The one will rise soon to change God's laws towards clergy and purity. The defilement of God's house for just selling goods and cheating people with false scales is nothing to what is to come.
