Well, to answer your question, I believe in God because I want to. Sure, if there is a Hell I definately don't want to end up there, but it is not the reason I believe in and love Christ.
I believe in God because it gives me something to look forward to. I treat my fellow man with kindness, and I would do the same if the threat of Hell was never given. I would be the same person. So, since my life would be the same, and since I do believe in my spending all eternity with the Creator in some way or another, the afterlife is basically a "bonus".

I totally believe in a loving, forgiving, and merciful God. So therefore I can't believe in hell.(the Christian hell). But many Christians will say , "Oh, but He is a God of justice too, and He is, but do they ever stop to think what the word justice means. I read somewhere in the Bible that our lifespan is a mere vapor to God. So what we do in this mere vapor of life,(aprox. 70-75 yrs.) will merit an eternity of torture and pain in hell, if were disobedient?? Doesn't sound like justice to me. Even our judicial system is merciful enough to fit the punishment to the crime. Well, those who claim that there is a hell, and are zealous with their threats to those who they think are worse sinners than they are, can keep right on worshiping their created god. But as for me , I will worship the true God.

A person shouldn't try to scare another person into believing in God. That isn't faith, the Bible doesn't teach to do things that way, and it's not the way Jesus handled things. To fear something (in this case hell) isn't love, devotion or faith. It's just what it says...fear-being or scared. I can see where a person would mention hell in an answer. Hell is part of the wadges of sin. A person needs to accept God because God (Jesus) is our salvation. God has made a wonderful world for us and an even better one to come. Upon death a persons soul will go to one of two places...Heaven or Hell. But heaven isn't gained by fear.

My belief in God is fueled by my experiences of God, not at all by the threat of hell.
Christians discuss hell with atheists because we truly believe in hell, either as a place or as a state of being. You may view hell as mythical, but to me it's the complete absence of God, something I would never wish on anyone.

certainty isn't in question. form as a high quality of a being is the place you detect convenience and chosen to grant your interest. If this is the shrink of your certainty then you definately've plenty to benefit and to take into your genuine means this is cosmic and infinite. God is spirit and so formless. You mistake your contemporary expression, human, as definitive and that's no longer. that's a fabric expression able to many acts for good and additionally blunders of conceitedness. You too are spirit in human adventure. you're certain and constrained on your realm of concept that each and one and all which you notice is all this is accessible to you. truly, you have plenty greater to which you will attain for. The God you think of you have taken carry of far exceeds your fabric draw close. you have constrained him to a e book that's no greater suitable than a commencing factor. it's time to get busy on discovery and an end to hindrance by technique of apologetics. everyone can have faith . . . sitting interior the boat.

The bottom line is a direct contact with God.
Did I think about hell to become a Christian?
No. I cried out to God with all my heart in great need, God are you there- help! and God showed up.
When God shows up all that goes out the window.
God Almighty created us all and loves us. He wants all of us to know Him. " For God so loved the world He sent His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes on him should not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16
We have all done, said and thought bad things. No one has to tell you, you know you have, everyone has. That separates us from God. God loves you and sent Jesus His only son to take that away so you can be back in direct contact with God and know him one on one.
God says draw close to Him and He will draw close to you.
Just call out to God and say:
Lord if You are there I want to know you. Jesus they tell me you died for my sins. I know I have done bad things, please forgive me. Let me know you.
Let me know You are there. I want to know the truth. Thank you.
God will take you from there.
It is free, you cannot earn it, all you have to do is ask God.
Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God.
To find out What God says get a New King James Bible, look up the Book of John in the New Testament. Ask God to show you what He wants you to know about Him then read the book of John.
God will answer you.
There is a real hell. God does not want you or anyone to go there and says so in the Bible. Some people choose it. God gave man free will to choose.

I believe in God, but my belief is not fueled by the "threat of hell". I believe that we can have our Heaven and Hell (not the fiery brimstones and what not) right here on Earth.
My belief comes from the tranquility that I feel after I pray when I'm scared, sick, or, simply lonely.

God does not want to scare us into a relationship with Him. 1 John 4:18 says, "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love." God is love (1 John 4:8,16).
Some Christians want people to come to heaven so bad though that they are willing to scare you so that you will want to go to heaven, not hell.
The reason that you don't have a doubt in your mind about the existance of hell is because currently the master of doubts is not your side. You must turn sides and join with us and with God in the fight against Satan, the father of lies.

I gave no thought to hell, but to life through faith. I would never use hell as a way to talk to others about Christ. I use my life as an example and the Word of God. The rest is up to God.

No. Really not. My belief is based on a testimony by the Holy Ghost that God lives and Jesus Christ is His Son. Sorry you don't know that yet. Maybe if you allowed yourself to believe it and demonstrate an ounce of faith, you would get the same testimony. Do you have the guts to try?
