I know in other sections it is used...but usually the highest you might get on either is 3 I would say (or if I check back to see if I have any on an answer in any other category that isn't hot button issues, I have none and neither do any of the other questions). but in this section...10 thumbs up or downs is nothing.

The Apostles water baptized only in the name of Jesus Christ. How is it we have Religions, going against the doctrine of truth
concerning the true church structure ? Jesus stated in John 10:1 you are a thief and robber you accept anything other
than the message the Apostles taught. Jesus stated also in John 3:5 you cannot get into heaven without being water baptized and filled with Holy Ghost. Acts 2:4 states that when you are Born of Spirit you will speak in other tongues.

I've seen on here 2 or 3 really nasty atheists who simply go off on God just for the heck of it. But I have a bet going that the atheists on here will decide. If you are talking with it could be anyone & they were to say something like God Forbid or Lord help me, I doubt very much that most of you would say Your God doesn't exist or Lords not going to help you. I say that the only time you say that is when people ask how you feel or what your opinion is. My brother thinks that atheists will take any opportunity to spout off & I say only when provoked. All atheists opinions welcome. Please no one who believes answer, this is an important bet, Thank you.

My mother and I fight about this all the time. I live in the bible belt of North Carolina and can not find a church near me that is what I am looking for.(they are all huge and your just a number to them) She feels you have got to physically go to church to worship god and hear sermons. I love to watch sermons on tv on sunday morning and read my bible when I have time. I pray and worship god in my own ways at home. Am I wrong?

I read in the newspaper that President Bush gave the Pope a walking stick with the Ten Commandments.

I'm curious whether it was the Protestant version of the Catholic version... Anyone know?

I feel as though I've drifted away from God. I haven't been to church in over a year and haven't opened up my Bible in that long, either. I used to love going to church, it gave me a sense of overwhelming peace and closeness to God but since the death of my mother two years ago, I don't feel like worshipping anymore. Since then, I've also abrubtly cut off all remaining family (aunts, uncles, cousins, father) except for my adult brother who lives with me.
I am feeling very despondent & alone & am not sure what to do. Should I try going to church again (even though the desire is not there) in the hope of rekindling the love I once had for church & God?

I am only sending them out to family (we aren't that close anyway.. they live an hour away and I dont' fit in with them anyway). And 1 friend from out of town. So I was going to email soem pictures and make a really cute backgroudn and border. That way everyone can have their own pictures of the baby. They will all come and see him anyway within a few days and I will call some of the family and my friends on the phone anyway. The more distant family (aunts and grandparents) will find out from my parents immediately anyway. The email announcement is more me sharing my excitement and showing off pictures.. and so my grandparents and aunts can hear from me in person (I am not calling the whole family one by one when they dont' hardly talk to me anyway).

Scenario: Anti-Christ comes and says, "All the worlds religions must become one because none of you can agree so let me choose your religious leader to bring peace. We will have a religion that all can believe in"

To prevent this from happening....please, please develop your own personal relationship with God and forget what an individual religion says to believe. God will lead you and will not allow you to be deceived. This will be true even if every individual believes something different.

How do you pronounce the "ed" sound in past tense? I'm not sure but when I watch TV, it looks like sometimes people pronounce it as "d" sound but sometimes as "t" sound. Are there any rules regarding how to pronounce it? Please explain in details. I want to learn how to speak proper English. Thanks.

PS. English is my second language.

It is clear to me that there are two major camps among you atheists. Those who say if God would prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that he exist you would accept him or at least invite Him in for a chat. Then there are those who say they would still reject Him to His face. This second group have issues that go back to how they interpret the Bible.
God was never blood thirsty. When men and women are left to their own devices the inner bad nature soon surfaces with a vegence and they begin to spread violence on the scale of genecide.
All God did was stop them.
If terrorists were going door to door killing folk on your street I don't think you would have a problem with God taking care of that little problem would you?

Would you go to the extreme. Such as eat a turd or would you give oral to an animal. I know this seems extreme. But ask yourself how far would you go for 28 million dollars. Would you ever go that far. Please be honest with any answers.

I've just watched a question about evolution and creationism get dominated by people asserting Christianity, so I wanted to ask everyone to solve a problem for me.

When I ask people why they believe in the Bible people say "because it's the word of God" so I ask them, why do you believe in God and they say "because of what it says in the Bible".

That looks like a circular belief system which I presume a lot of people are stuck in and it's easier to carry along with it than challenge a big part of one's identity.

My question is, what am I missing? I'll happily believe in the extraordinary if you'll give me some extraordinary proof.

...who becomes the next British monarch? Would Prince William still become King after his grandma finally kicks the bucket? Or would the throne pass to Princess Anne, since she would be the only remaining child of the Queen?

From what I understand homosexuality WAS a sin b/c...
1. Young boys were getting raped by men ("Lets make it an abomination ... done!")
2. The world WAS in dire need of procreation, which gay's could no do.

Obviously, today it dosent matter the sexual orientation of people when it comes to molestation, it happens within all orientations!

We're OVERPOPULATED as it is! So THAT reason wouldnt apply today.

So, why is it a sin TODAY?

I am confused about my beliefs.

I dont agree with christianity, or muslim beliefs, they just don't match with me...

The point is I don't have a religion, but I believe in God.
What is this called ?

I tell my pastor I have been seeking for 6 yrs unto God for his ways and power and rightousness. Of course I belive a man can become perfect, to show Jesus was not needed to be sacraficed. This is how I love the blood. My pastor said you are going down the worng path to pray to God and trust in him. I AM your pastor hear my voice and follow my direction. That is his direct response. See I belieave God can say that it is impossible for him to make me perfect. So I wait and ask for perfection by his hand. God can stop me anytime, but all he does is get my spirit to move forward and fight with the pastor and christians. So if your pastor told you that your prayers to the living God are never going to be answered, or your pastor says that he is the voice of God and to only listen to him not your heart. How the heck am I as a Christian soppose to obey this man? When MY God OUR God, says that I can become perfect, I just have to hunger enough for his rightousness and holiness.
