From what I understand homosexuality WAS a sin b/c...
1. Young boys were getting raped by men ("Lets make it an abomination ... done!")
2. The world WAS in dire need of procreation, which gay's could no do.

Obviously, today it dosent matter the sexual orientation of people when it comes to molestation, it happens within all orientations!

We're OVERPOPULATED as it is! So THAT reason wouldnt apply today.

So, why is it a sin TODAY?

Im asking this because .....

There is NO WAY EVER my mother(s) are an abomination! They are the two most ; Happiest, loving, caring, free-spirited, giving people you could ever meet.
And people say theyre going to hell ..... how in the world does that match up?

Temptation from the devil? What .... to have kids, raise them well, fall in love with their soul mate, and be happy? Yea, that sounds soooooo devilish!

It's not. It's natures way of controlling the current exploding population. That's why it seems there are more homosexuals today then even a few decades ago. There actually are more that have been born. This number will continue to increase, as will the number of infertile people, until our population is under control.

Because it's still a fallen world... people are born with all kinds of.... differences that are so... unique, it is not advantageous for good to abound (unless maybe G-d brings good by it miraculously).
How about "hermaphrodites" or the "intersexed" as they prefer to be called... they are born with both male and female parts... a few are very close to 50/50. How confusing is that?! That's why I don't judge anyone, I'm too busy trying to do what is right in G-d's eyes in my OWN life. Also, the same word "abomination" is used to describe eating pork or shellfish in Leviticus... yet, many spiritual people eat those all the time, without a second thought! It doesn't mean we are SUPPOSED to adhere to any of this "abomination" but this is the way it is right now and people will not be perfect until we are made perfect, by Yeshua our salvation... and by loving G-d's perfection and mercy.

The answer is because God is the same, yesterday, today and forever.

I will go further here though. That does not give ANYONE the right to cast judgement. The bible is pretty clear that no sin is greater than another, with exception to blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

Personally, I have too many faults of my own to be concerned with to cast judgement upon anyone, and I think that people should spend more time looking inward and less focusing on the faults of others.

I am a Christian but I do not understand why some people think homosexuality is a sin. As far as I can tell, all the other sins listed in the Bible (lying, commiting adultery) are all actions, while being gay is more like a trait (like your personality or what your voice sounds like). There is no other sin in the Bible that is consistent, like homosexuality, which I believe sets it apart from the other "sins" listed in the Bible. Also, I've noticed that some Christians selectively quote the Bible. They talk about the verses in the Old Testament that seem to condemn homosexuality, but they never say anything about the verses that condemn eating shellfish or wearing clothes made out of two different materials (which are, by the way, just a few lines away in the Bible).

Tell me, several hundred years ago and later slavery was considered an OK thing, not really a sin. But now we do consider it a sin, so I ask you, has it always been a sin or just only a sin because of popular opinion?
The reverse has happened to homosexuality it was a sin then, but not now. What has changed but popular opinion?
Maybe we should base sin objectively, say on God, and what he has to say.

Socio-economic concerns (they want the chance for a child to set you back financially). It's also a way to test their influence over the minds of the people.

When you cut away all the PC, tolerance (read: over-tolerance), and hedonism it is obvious why God made humans male and female. Any attempt to change God's design is a perversion.

In response to another answerer let's make a very important distinction. Homosexual feelings in themselves are not sinful. Feelings and emotions are subjective, which cannot be sinful. When a person acts on those feelings, that is sinful.

Based on my faith, I believe that homosexuality is a sin. But i'm not discriminating because we are all people. It's just more widely accepted today.

I don't know. Frogs change sex when one gender over populates an area. I guess its just as feasible that humans could change sexual preference just as easily.
