They died because the egotiscal psycho killed them. I'm sure you saw the pictures and tapes of that sick person who did that. He was not a godly christian or a good atheist. And those people were innocent victims of his on that infamous day. They did nothing to deserve their own death just as those that survived did nothing to deserve their survival accept to not be the ones killed.

Good thinking weemaryanne.
It doesn't makes sense that God is everywhere now does it?
If God is everywhere, why are people all over the planet suffereing with death, poverty, sickness, and sorrow? Do children in Darfur and Iraq not pray to God also?
I personally cannot comprehend such a being. It seems we are suffering the "wrath of God" at the present time on this planet.
In a book I recently read explaining about truth and reality, it says this (which basically sums up the best answer I can come up with):
These ramifications [like the tragic deaths of those at Virginia Tech] are the penalties, punishments, woes, and con-sequences of opposing goodness and happiness. Though many humans believe that these consequences are part of the essence and penalties of a just God; a righteous Creator cannot violate the very purpose for which He exists—to provide happiness for His creations.
Therefore, it can be said that the “wrath of God” is nothing more than the non-intervention of more advanced and intelligent Beings (who could help, but choose not to), which allows the actions of free-willed beings, who are learning by their own experience about the hell they are creating for themselves.
There is hope.
Someone must boldly step forward without agenda and personal expectation, wielding the sword of truth in defense of the yoked. The sword will cut for the benefit of the poor, the meek, the downtrodden, and the exploited of the world.
I can hardly wait the day!!
You can read the book at the site below.

Horrific things like that are happening because we are living in what the Bible calls the Last Days. Right now, Satan and his demons are influencing mankind.....when we look at the world around us with the bloodshed and violence, doesn't that make sense? Soon at Armageddon, evil will be wiped from the earth. Those ones that were killed, they are sleeping in death, but the Bible promises a resurrection for all who have died. There is an explanation and there is hope.

WeeMaryAnne! I am shocked! He didn't save them as a 'lesson' to the rest of us, of course. He also was so convoluted about what that lesson was that nobody understands it. Why didn't he save the victims of 9/11. Why hasn't he saved the troops or the 650,000 slaughtered in Iraq? Why, according to the Christians, God "has his reasons". His reasons are pretty darn evil though, don'tcha think? Have we learned any lessons about gun control? Are our education systems suddenly 'disallowing' bullying? Nope and nope. These would be reasons, although reasons better learned without all the lives lost in the first place. If God didn't save them, then he must be the devil in disguise.

God gave the authority and control to man. If any of those people were Christians they are in Heaven. Everyone has an opportunity to accept Jesus as their savior.

It's Satan job, God was busy saving other life. You see less than 0.01% of kid were killed only. Not 99.99999999999% like in Bible flood.
So let pray and thank God for saving the rest.

Does it makes sense to be angry with God because he permits suffering? Not when you consider that God has promised to end all suffering. Nor does it make sense to feel that God causes bad things to happen. Many tragic happenings are simply the result of random events.
Imagine, for example, that the wind blows a tree down and it injures someone. People may call this an act of God. But God did not make that tree fall down. The Bible helps us to appreciate that such things are simply the sad result of "time and unforeseen occurrence."—Ecclesiastes 9:11
Revelation 12:12 On this account be glad, YOU heavens and YOU who reside in them! Woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to YOU, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time.”
The devil is mad & wreaking havoc on our youths especially, today. He is going down & wants to drag everyone w/him.
But, don't lose hope, God is not unrighteous. He is just & will exact judgment on the wicked. He will bring back the dead, into a Paradise Earth.
Psalm 37:29- The righteous themselves will possess the earth,
And they will reside forever upon it.
Revelation 21: 4 -And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away.”

By that logic, devout Christians such as St. Augustine, John Calvin, and Jacob Arminius should still be alive today.
Yes, everyone wants to live a full life, but people die every day at different ages.
This is not a logical argument.

Because we all have karma, (What goes around comes around. We are not these bodies, IE race, color, nationality, religion, job, mind, intellect, etc. We are eternal spirit souls. To think those kids died is wrong. They only left their material bodies. Being the soul is eternal we don't know what they did in their previous lives. On must understand karma, reincarnation and no one goes to hell eternally to understand the unlimited mercy and love of God. You have to ask why is a baby born blind or sick or poor or healthy and wealthy? The answer is they did some action in their previous life which got that reaction. Original sin makes no sense that is a man made idea. God is fare and to say eeny meeny miney moe you get this bad karma for no reason and you get this good karma for no reason is not fare. If original sin was true we would all get the same amount of good and bad. King Constantine changed the bible and took all to do with karma and reincarnation. for information google gospelofthenazirenes.com Totally enlightening.(for sincere followers of Truth.

Perhaps all those folks were praying to the wrong god all their short lives... Maybe the christian god got all pissed off about that and just 'looked the other way'...
On the other hand, maybe there are no "gods" one way or the other and these poor folks were simply in the wrong place at the wrong time...
