I read in the newspaper that President Bush gave the Pope a walking stick with the Ten Commandments.

I'm curious whether it was the Protestant version of the Catholic version... Anyone know?

I have to be a smart rump and say that it is just another goofy thing that Gdub has done. He was probably in the same line of reasoning when he did all of the other lame brain things that he has done. But in all honesty, the stick is probably a symbol of sorts. In the days before modern transportation, the priests/cardinals, etc, rode donkeys and probably did a great deal of walking when they went from place to place performing their duties? This stick may just be symbolic of something like that, and you can bet that if it is that Georgie boy didn't think this gift up on his own!!!!!! That's just proof positive that our tax dollars are at work.

The ten commandments are the ten commandments in the Torah, King James and Roman Catholic bibles.

I'd guess it was the Catholic version, since I can't imagine that W himself was whittling the walking stick. And once an idea gets to a handler, there's a chance it will turn into a better one.

They may be worded differently, but the intent is the same. SO either way, it's still the 10 commandments.

Does it matter really? Ten Commandments are Ten Commandments, no matter what religion.
