Why all the name calling and arguing?

If Christians are a majority, then they are going to have something to say about the politics of the nation. Atheists have already forbidden us from praying in school. I am a Christian, but I do not understand why we can't buy alcohol on Sunday.

I think it's partly because some Christian or some church really turned off somebody and because of that they chose to be atheist.

On the other hand, I'm Christian, and I'm well aware of the fact that there are atheists out there and I even have a few friends who are atheists. But I do not appreciate what some (and I emphasize, SOME) of the atheists who post on sites like this say about Christians. It's like, instead of admitting that they were mistreated by a few Christians, they choose to accuse all of us, and that's not good for society.

Remember, you're primarily seeing the Christians and atheists who come here to argue!

It has often been pointed out that in other nations of the world, this debate is not so heated.

Hello,

Sure they can; besides there are so many other subjects to talk about from art to food and drink.
If you meet a pro abortion feminist at a party and your views are opposite, don't bring that subject up; talk about the local theatre scene; two people in a same sex relationship, talk about how to fashionably decorate your home etc. All in all, there are so many things of interest to talk about that you can leave out contentious issues with those so sensitive to them.

because I cannot buy alcohol on sunday becuase of somebody's religious beliefs.
I cannot buy a car, in some states, on sunday because of somebody's religious beliefs.
I cannot run for public office in some states becuaes I am an atheist.

So, why do I have to live my life by some religious persons idea of right and wrong???

That would be fantastic.

As soon as I can buy beer on Sundays and judges don't put the 10 Commandments in front of courthouses and homosexuals can get married we'll call it even.

Atheists are unhappy about the stupendous waste of resources devoted to religion instead of to useful pursuits.

Ultimately, since the existence of deity has not and can not be proven one way or the other, there's not much point in the arguing.
