believe in God are all on R&S. Telling us we are wrong, this cracks me up do they enjoy themselves. Does anyone think we might convert one of them, is it possible that is what they are hoping for, as stranger things have happened. Maybe one of them would love to be a Christian, I am sure that is the reason they are in here could I be right?

I haven't been on here long, but I haven't read one atheists say that a person is wrong. They are just saying what they believe to be true. I am a recovering Baptist, 10 years sober and mind control free, but I still like to learn about religion, in all its forms, as it is a major influence in today's society. That dose not mean that i want to be converted, and I personally would never want to be a Christian again.

So yes of course you could be right. Not in my case, but your can be right.

I think that is a silly theory. I think Atheists can be interested in religion. You know, before I finally decided on Anthropology I actually seriously considered a degree in Religious Studies. I have a sincere, academic curiosity about religions (all religions including Christianity). This is the Religion and Spirituality section, not the Christian section. You seem to be confused.

What I DON’T laugh at is your obvious hatred and disrespect for people you don’t understand and who I believe are just as serious about their own beliefs as you are about yours.

I think non-Christians may find things here of great interest. This is not the Christianity Forum it is Religion and Spirituality. One can be spiritual while not religious.
I do not find the fighting and baiting that goes on in this forum amusing at all.

Yes it's strange isn't it.It's like going on the football site and saying you hate football, or the travel site and saying people should not travel. The atheists are sad insecure people who think that they can change people's faith by insulting them.We don't hate atheists,we pity them....they don't like that either...just wait for the thumbs down merchants.

Some people just choose not to believe in backward antiquated guff like religion in this day and age. Why do religious types always try to ram it down the throats of those of us who couldnt care less?? personally I wouldnt waste my time believing in some supernatural being and looking to them to solve all my problems for me if I pray enough or some equivalent idiocy. Religion in all its forms is so destructive, daft and pointless. and its tantamount to being afraid of the dark in its backwardness. Whatever floats your boat though.

we are here out of boredom and to argue the fact that we want "the truth" quoting the bible or any other religious book that talks about a god is just pure fiction and meaningless to us because most of us have studied it and become atheists because of it. None of the religious god garbage out there offers any real proof, only believe or go to hell. wanting us all to believe in a invisible man that lives in the sky that wants us not to do 10 things on a list and if u do, u go to a dark fiery place, where you will burn ans suffer and cry until the end of time, but he loves you. please. have god, Jesus, Allah, or what have you stand in front of me and perform a miracle and i will believe it then.

A variation on the 'Why are atheists here?' question. A relatively good one, as these go, but still.

Yes, we all have secret Christian conversion fantasies in the back of the closet with the bicurious and S + M stuff. That must be it.

CS Lewis (the author of the Chronicles of Narnia) was an atheist til his good friend JRR Tolkien (Lord of the Rings) converted him.

and there are numerous former atheist that convert after trying to prove there is no God

if one went from being an atheist to a christian, I would wonder. It's easier and more logical to believe and then not to believe, then to adamantly believe in there being no god and suddenly 'seeing the light'.

Would it make sense to suddenly start believing in Santa at the age of 30?
