Were you barefoot for the costume?

I know that abortion is wrong. My question is about the early termenation of pregnancy. I have taken a lot of heat over the years because I terminated my pregnancy 3 months early. The doctors told me that it was the best chance of survival my twins had, and I do now have healthy normal 12 year olds who will turn 13 in July. A lot of people say I did not have enough faith and it was wrong, but I felt like God was leading the Doctor's in their decision and He was there to make sure my babies were safe.

My second part of the question is, do you ever worry that if we make strict abortion laws that women who are in a position like I was will lose the option to terminate early not to take a life but to save a life?

I love my twins, and I wanted them very badly. You wouldn't believe some of the nasty things people have said regarding their birth circumstances.

I am betting that we women spend more time in prayer and men in action as far as the daily life of our faiths. We call this in Christian families that the Husband is the head of the home and the Wife the heart of it. I find at daily Mass there are always more women. We do engage in Christian action too but I find men have a need for more action. What are your feelings about your faith?

Once I was in a foreign town I knew nothing about. I had just found out my girlfriend was cheating on me with a big time drug dealer. I confronted the two of them while they were high on PCP. I left and I walked this town for about three hours at 3 in the morning. At one point I sat on a curb side in front of a shopping center. I remember feeling angry, hurt and scared. I looked up at the moon and I saw something like a small cloud coming down towards me. As it got closer I realized it was a spirit of some kind. I don't do drugs so I wasn't high and I had not had one drink. I remember this spirit getting very close and I suddenly felt peace. I got up and started walking again. I had to walk threw a huge wooded park. As I was walking threw the dark park I heard footsteps behind me the whole time but I never saw anyone. Somehow I found my brothers best friends job. He brought me home and I prayed and rested. Do you believe this was Jesus protecting me from others as well as myself?

Yahoo says, ETYMOLOGY:
Latin intelligns , intelligent- present participle of intellegere, intelligere, to perceive : inter-, inter- + legere, to choose; see leg- in Indo-European roots

That's what this is really all about, right? Is it more intelligent to base our lives on that which is concrete and provable, or that which many find strength and comfort in (and COULD be true, there is no definitive evidence against it)?

I have a co-worker who just asks too many questions. I get irritated very easily and I am finding it more and more difficult to be nice when I answer. The most annoying aspect is that he asks them back to back and they are always either rhetorical or only require a yes or no answer and I feel like I am being interrogated. When I try to be nice and give more of a dialog, he doesn’t really stick around to listen or acts like I am holding him up (which sometimes works in my favor b/c then he will leave me alone-temporarily). I feel like I should feel that I'm overacting, but I honestly don’t think I am. Everytime he walks by now, I kinda tense up, b/c I am expecting another irritating question and I 'm not sure how I will react. It’s at the point where I don’t even open my mouth anymore-I just nod or shake my head. I think maybe he thinks he is annoying me, when it is just the questions he asks. How can I nicely tell him? I laughed and told him once but dont think he got the hint

If you believe that God can do anything, can he build a mountain so high, that even he cant cross? If you can answer that, then you must be pretty smart. and also, is there an end of the universe, and if so, whats there? Im just kidding. I am a firm believer in the christian faith, and i know that some things in this world are for God to know, and for us to find out. but seriously think about these question, you'll drive yourself nuts!!!!!

I'm curious about the book The Bible Diet (I think that is what it is called). Could anybody give me some kind of quick overview? What does it consist of? Is it based on the Old and New testament? Does it allow (New T.) or forbid (Old T.) pork?

By the way, I am Muslim, quite happy with my path, and am asking a sincere question to obtain knowledge. No bashing!!!!

Suppose God appeared to you, and sayeth---

You will choose between two alternatives:
(1) The world will stay as it is,
or
(2) I will take all the truly religious people in the world, all who truly believe in a supernatural creator, and I will wisk them away to an afterlife compatible with their beliefs: believing Christians will go to Christian heaven, Jihadists will go to Jihadist heaven, Dhoists will go to Dhoist heaven, etc.
The non-believers will stay behind, and just in case you're worried, I will also remove all possibly-existing supernatural beings from the universe, good or evil. The universe will operate on purely naturalistic terms, and when you're dead, you're dead, that's it.

Would you choose the second alternative, and would you stay behind?

I would. That's why the idea of the Rapture is so appealing, an atheist's fondest wish, aside from the nasty bits about the anti-christ that seem to be put in to make sure people are properly scared.

Here on Yahoo Q & A's, it seems that there is so much religion bashing. The Christians can't agree with each other, and they disagree with the Muslims and the Jews. The Muslims think that Christianity is wrong, and Judiasm, too. The Jews believe they are right..
Why is there little tolerance here for others beliefs?
So...what's the answer to all this? Who is right? We can't all be the same, can we?
I am not disagreeing with any of them, I have my own beliefs, but I would like to know what you think of the "bickering" here, about the various differences.
Is it self righteous when we criticize others for their beliefs?

You go to a restaurant. You order your food, and choose a booth to sit and wait. Your number is called (or the waiter brings your food) and you begin eating. Then some family (sometimes a couple that looks skecthy, sometimes a couple that looks normal) comes in and sits behind you. Everything is fine until the kids start yelling and screaming at the tops of their lungs... Anyone?

.........they idea that the Earth is only 6000 years old is just plain silly?

Do you really think that all the people on this Earth could come from one couple over a period of just 6,000 years?.........oh, not forgeting most of them died in a flood apparently.

Do you ever sit down and REALLY question the logic behind the idea?

Or would that be a sin?

In the last days there will be many miracles and signs made in the Name of Jesus and people who call the Name of Jesus Christ, yet they might be false prophets.

How will you Christians know for sure if they are real or fake? Will you follow them if they cure you of cancer, or your family member of some incurable disease? Does a sign or miracle make someone come from God? How about if they do it in the Name of Jesus Christ is that enough to authenticate it as coming from God?

Please don't give me the "super-Christian" answer. I want you to truly examine yourself and see whether or not you would. If you honestly will, by all means, say so. If not, don't be ashamed to say that. Be honest with yourself.

As for me, at one point, I honestly believed yes, I would. Then, as time went on, I wondered if I could honestly undergo persecution and/or death. Am I willing to stand in a crowd of people and say "yes, I will die for Him?" I don't know.

Please keep this in mind from this day on. I've been reading Foxe's Book of Martyr's and one martyr, a bishop of Antioch, was reported as being led to his death and saying "Now I begin to be a disciple. I care for nothing, of visible or invisible things, so that I may but win Christ. Let fire and the cross, let the companies of wild beasts, let breaking of bones and tearing of limbs, let the grinding of the whole body, and all the malice of the devil, come upon me; be it so, only may I win Christ Jesus!"
