It is true most people that are brainwashed which you actually see in many mental institutions (not meant to be offensive) you pick up similarities within the institution. Most christians talk very slow and melancholy and seem airy or light headed happy even if a hurricane is all around them.

The problem is just that delusional people do not want to make their home the earth a better place because they are "saved" they simply do not care!!!
That is delusion and is unacceptable behavior for adults?

I've seen alot of questions about it and all the answers vary by the asker, and I've been curious myself, so I'd like to ask people who actually believe in God and Jesus Christ. Is it a sin? It would be great if we could also get experts, but regular believers will do fine.

I just got off the phone with the mother of the ruffian. I know he has problems, he was held back a year, but I have custody of an 8 year old granddaughter and he is 10. His mother was first upset with me when his 7 year old sister was playing with my granddaughter in her bedroom a few weeks ago. I told him boys were not allowed in her room, but they would be outside soon. His mother came to my door and questioned me on why I did not let him play in a bedroom with the girls. Since then, I will not allow her inside their home, but have tried to be cordial and let him know he is welcome in my yard as long as he follows the rules, the first one being, don't knock any kids around for the hell of it, or you will leave the yard. I am losing any objectivity I might have had before after talking to his mother. I am not the only one who objects to the boy's behavior, just the only one with the guts to call his mother [the father has custody] who has the two children more since school is out.

I'm surprised at how protective I feel when somebody bashes Catholicism here at R & S.
I didn't have bad experiences growing up Catholic (there was one mean nun, but that's it). It's just that I'm just too skeptical to believe.
I'm 99.999999999999% sure I'm going to die an atheist.
But is it weird that I still have a connection to Catholicism?

Instead of killing people who are innocent of any wrongdoing, why don't suicidal people take out the crack dealer on the corner? a bunch of pedophiles? an abortion doctor that kills late-term children? a crook that has ripped off elderly people? an abusive husband? You get the idea. Why take out students or family members? They should make their lives count for something in the end. That way, at their funeral, it could be said that at least he left the world a better place.

Science privudes a rational and logical explanation.

Religion offers an emotional response to questions, many of which don't even need to be asked (eg: "why are here?")

Also, the bible is just one of many religious texts. All of which claim to be the yet contradict each other.

In science, people compare their evidence and follow the path that can be best supported by factual evidence.

Dosn't it make more sense to study science than a discredited religious text?

When you've read enough of a book to realise it's contradictory and full of ridiculous falsehoods (eg: Genesis, Exodus.....and the whole thing really), why would you want to read another thousand or so pages, yet alone STUDY it?

Do they want us to read it just to keep us to busy to follow what's happening in the scientific community?

i don't think you can believe in evolution and god. definitely not the bible. the bible clearly states that the universe was made in six days and on the seventh day he rested etc....but if evolution is correct, it STILL didn't happen in six days. So..theistic evolution...is it a bunch of bull?

I believe it does. The phrase "they came to life" in verse 4 to describe the resurrection of the martyrs (which means, ALL Christians throughout history) is ezesan in Greek. This exact same word is used in verse 5 when describing the resurrection of the rest of the dead (unbelievers) after the millennium. Thus, the amillennial or postmillennial interpretation of Revelation 20 is exegetically illogical to sustain. Agree or disagree? (And please don't refer to other passages.)
