In an ideal world everyone would help Africa. In this world... we have done as much as we think we have done.. again.. and again..and again...... and its never enough.
Would you give everything you own to those poor people.. the dictators who run their country keep the money.. the food.. what would you do about that?
I say help those poor people...... I can't imagine how the Mother of a young child dying in her arms must be feeling.. or the child that has been raped by many is feeling.. it would be an outrage in this country if that happened...
What is wrong with this world.. a blackness has descended on all......... a void.... a not caring about anyone......
I care!

No. Your statement is not even close to being accurate. I am sure the am out of aid money going to Africa far exceeds that amount. And has for many, many years.
And keep in mind the money spent will generate income, and due to the multiplier effect of spending, the actual net cost to society is far below 757ps. Say there were 1000 workers who would have been taking public assistance, but instead got a job, paid taxes, then took their wages and spent that money. Government agencies will receive increased tax revenues and local businesses in the area will have higher incomes and hire more workers.
757ps given as charity, has a much higher true cost than a "public works" type project.
And while I understand what you are saying, but when aid money is allocated, it is done by goverment and private agencies, independent of other non-related projects.
Look at the amount of money being spent by the Gates Froundation, U2's work, etc.

Poverty, or at least most of it, could be wiped out in Africa if they wanted to, but apparently there's not a lot of point to it.
Almost all of the problems are human-caused: they've taught their children to fight wars instead of educating them; they've used the substantial natural resources there to enrich corrupt dictators, and they've used the energy and spirit of their people to enforce tribalism and tribal warfare.
As we've learned over the last hundred years or so, It really doesn't matter how much money is injected into the continent from outside. Everyone who has tried to help has given up; right now the Chinese are taking their turn, and good luck to them.

The Nigerian Government spent that amount on their national stadium in Abuja, why shouldn't we? At least we as a country can afford to do it.
I would also argue that we got a better product and that half the problem with world poverty is not the western world keeping 3rd world countries in debt but 3rd world countries government spending, corruption and monetary policies that revolve around keeping their own pockets lined with cash whilst their fellow countrymen starve in the street.

Poverty would've been wiped out if countries thinks of living peacfully and reduce army and military budgets.
also, hunger would be gone if countries stop throwing wheat in the ocean just to keep the price up. they could send the wheat and many other things to poor countries.

Foreign Aid means that the POOR of the RICH countries give money to the RICH of the POOR countries.
A few years ago everyone gave billions to Ethiopia.
They responded by buying $4000,000,000 worth of Arms from the Soviet Union.

Poverty could be wiped out in Africa if all the tinpot dictators of banana republics stopped spending the aid they receive on fleets of limousines, private jets and fabulous palaces.

you cant wipe out poverty. some people are just too stupid to manage money. i know several poor people who won big judgements in lawsuits ($1million +). 5 years later , or less, every one of them is flat broke, nothing to show for it. they completely pissed it away on cars, gambling, doping, clothes, trips, etc.
if you gave 757 people in africa $1M each, i guarantee you 95% will be broke in less than 5 years.
