Good Morning Yahooers,
The reason People go astray, become hurtful murderers, thieves, slanders of people is because GOD gave everyone Free WIll, if he did not then he would of destroyed Adam and Eve in the Garden and started over again, but isn't it our *CHOICE* wether to do the right thing in life or the wrong?

Many people are doing the wrong things in life walking down the highway to destruction, and they don't want anyone to tell them there is another road. a map that will lead them to eternal happiness.

Do you think most people want eternal happiness? Why would people choose to be wallowers of pity, reveling in the fact that Misery Loves Company.
Thoughts?

I am assigned to find out how world came to be according to Hindu scriptures. Like in Islam, people believe that the world was created by God. God created everything and Adam. Then he created Eve and so on and so on... so is there something like that in Hinduism.

Hopefully the question is clear.

At the end of many editions of the Old Testament, it says the End of the Prophets. Most Jews consider the last of the OT prophets to be the last word that God has spoken. That is all God had to say to mankind. No more revelation for the past 2400 years.

Christians disagree. After 400 years of silence, God spoke to us again through John the Baptist, Jesus, and the apostles. They believe that the Jews are wrong to think that revelation ended 400 years earlier. However, they believe that after the death of the apostles, there was no more revelation. The end of the NT is the End of the Prophets. That is all that God had to say to mankind. No more revelation for the past 2000 years. Sound familiar?

Mormons disagree. After 1800 years of silence, God spoke to us again through Joseph Smith and continues to do so through subsequent prophets. We believe that revelation will never cease. Whether you are Jew, Christian, or Muslim, can you tell me what's wrong with that belief?

Most Christians agree that their Bible was inspired by God himself.

Countless horrible acts have taken place over time, and many of them were claimed to have been inspired by God.

How does one separate what was truly inspired by God, and what was inspired by sheer lunacy or villainy?

Fill in the blank.

I had two nasty grams this morning both of which told me that. "I hate god.". Talk about misguided.

do people blame it on free will or original sin, just like everything else they dont like, or doesnt make sense about their god, so they dont accidently question their faith

The bible, as we know, was God-breathed (inspired).
Scripture was written with the assumption that God already exists....there was no question about it (and I completely agree as a born again Christian).

With that said, the burden of proof doesn't lie on us to prove that God does exist.....but rather....it lies on the non-believer to prove that He doesn't.

Agreed?

Just the pure and simple fact that we're even here to begin with. That anything exists especially humans... like i can imagine there bein a universe without humans but the fact that we're here is in itself is a miracle. We are, most likely, the most intricate creations in the universe... at least to the extent of our knowledge and discovery.

But even before us, the universe had to be created by God or a god and i imagine he'd care about his creation... it's all he's got really... what else would God do?

How does this follow the Bible? How about becoming more Christlike (and God like) and having the unconditional love for others... especially those who are going astray. Like the story of the Prodigal Son? Why would Shunning those who do not believe or live by their teachings benefit it's members? Because no one is perfect. Why would family members be told not to talk to or associate with even their own family if they do not believe in the Jehova's witness religion any longer? It seems that following one or two verses in the bible goes against many many more of Christ's teachings. Can someone explain why JW's are told to SHUN even their own family members who refuse to believe in the religion, or marry outside their religion? thanks.
