My relatives are all Christians, and I know very well that they are afraid to question their religion. I have all the courage in my family, because I questioned the family religion at age 7. I saw errors in the Bible even then. I studied many religions, and I attended services of Buddhism, Taoism, etc. When my sister heard I was studying martial arts and attending some services at the Soto Zen Buddhist temple, she had her preacher pray to have the "Devil of Buddhism" removed from me. Isn't that ridiculous?

When we question our faith, it normally leads to the enemy of all christian people! satan wants all to doubt or question things that we know in our hearts are fine, but he works on our minds!
God does give consequences to our choices, so there may be times we are "punished" as you put it for doing something we should not do. I see it as we are made stronger in HIM by going thru a trial or two!
I'm not afraid to question anything, but one thing I know I do NOT ever have to question is my faith!!!!

God is omniscient. He knows everything in your heart and mind at all times, so what you propose is impossible. The second it enters your brain, you've ratted yourself out.

I would be seriously surprised if a Christian told me that they had never questioned their faith. It's part of being human. It's not a sin and there is no punishment.

I am not afraid to question my faith. When I do, I just find out all the more how true it is. God will not punish us for justifying our beliefs by studying his word.

I have questioned my faith, in the past, and God is the answer

Some probably are afraid. My belief is that questioning your faith is the same as questioning your God, which means that you are acknowledging His/Her existence.

Oh, yes. Definitely. If I were to stand before God for the things I've done in my life, I'm sure I wouldn't be proud. Yes. Maybe it's because I've been pushed in church a bit or maybe it's because I just can't get myself together sometimes, but yes I have that thought quite frequently sometimes.

They certainly pushed that line when I was a kid in the catholic church.

It's part of the problem of indoctrinating kids at such a young age.

The fear of questioning their faith becomes so firmly ingrained when the mind is so vulnerable.

I think this why it's often such a long proccess of peeling back layers of the onion for people to escape the faith trap.

Everyone questions their faith. What are you talking about?

Just because people don't agree with your conclusions doesn't mean that they haven't thought about the same issues that you do. That is an arrogant and condescending assumption.

God knows the deepest recesses of our hearts, yours included. He knows our fears, our secrets, our thoughts, everything. So, yes, we all question our faith at times. We're human. But God sees it and loves us anyway.
