I have a problem when people explain emotions away as just chemicals in the body. Its the same with people who break down plants to their scientific explaination of how they grow instead of seeing their beauty in nature. The scientific explanation is nice and all but no human could ever come up with creating a human with so many emotions on their own or plantlife that is as complex and dependant on other parts of the environment. No man made invention will ever be able to rival the incredible detail of the human body or nature. That is what is so amazing.
As for your second question I this is the same problem I have with parents who use drugs like ridolin to control their kids instead of disciplining them. They explain their behavior as a chemical imbalance instead of a lack of discipline.

It would be like someone explaining a joke before she told it.

But it doesn't invalidate the fact that the joke has an explanation.

Just because it's all above your head, doesn't mean it can't be explained.

To answer your question, I could never marry someone so simple and uneducated that they actually believed the Bible.

I know. I was engaged to a simple minded Christian woman (also a college graduate and MBA) for many years, and when I abandoned the faith, I left her behind as well.

I no longer respected her. She may have had an education, but like all Christians it could only penetrate so far into the skull. The education was skin deep.

I guess that two questions???

I would not marry anyone that thought they had all the answers to anything. I would wait to see if they mature to the point of understanding how little they really know.

The Bible is a guide and does have answers to all our problems if we take the time to study and understand it. Again I would want to marry someone that would look for the answers in the Bible with me.

I would not marry anyone until I knew they were on the same page with me scripturally, in Christ and in most all things. Not someone just like you but someone that complemented you, helped you with your weak spots and used your strengths to complete them.

I would Marry the scientific person. She reminds me of myself.

There is no way i would marry someone who insisted on refering to the bible in times of desperation. If she was very special a might reconsider though. Love is not perfect an niether am I.

"Would you fall in love and marry a person who insisted your every emotion had a scientific explanation?"

I'm about to fall out laughing, because I *did*! And I'm sure she can explain why she makes me happy most of the time, too. :-)

I'd marry either.

The former I'd get along with well. The latter would have to realize I didn't mean any offense when I laughed at that second part though.

But I would marry whomever my heart told me was right, if things were looking like they'd work out.

That scientific person would be as cold and boring as hades. The Biblical person is at least looking for clues and direction rather than some concrete sterile answer to everything. the first is all head, the second at least shows some heart.

All I can say is couples that read the Bible together DAILY, are 800 times less likely to divorce.

As far as your first question, she would really have to be a looker. :-)
