hi,
i meditate. but i dont medidate traditionally, that is, i dont medidate to psalms. but i medidate to beauiful music that makes me feel that I am drifting in the universe or watching a stream. So far, two song, John Frusciante's Ramparts and Time is Nothing have helped me. I'm looking to expand this collection. Does anyone else know of such soothing, multi-dimensional music?

I just dont get it. How can you believe your God is the right one when there is so many other religions saying that their God is right? And why is there so many rules in a religion? Why cant any God just let us be happy as long as we are not hurting ourselves or others?Example: Why do Muslim women have to cover their whole bodies especially in the middle east its hot out there. But like why so other guys dont look? Guys look just the same, so if the Muslim women was to make eyes for him that would be her fault. But if a Muslim woman deals with only herself and doesnt flirt or make trouble why cant she show a little skin?
I find it hard to believe in a God anymore, because there is so much controversy over each religion, and it get so confusing. I dont know, I guess I am just a lost soul now.

In the madrassas the kids just learn it by "rote" repeating each verse hundreds of times...... that is not understanding the meaning of the verses and their consequences in real life!
That just means you know the verses and can quote them without having to refer to the book!

I honestly have no f#ckin idea where I'm going in the afterlife. I've committed many sins but I confess my sins and try to make up for it with good deeds. My sins and my good deeds balance each other out so would God let me plead my case if it came to that?

I've never seen a fundamentialist walking around with one eye gouged out, as Jesus instructed. Clearly they take some verses figuratively, but on whose authority?

A friend of mine made a short documentary using this title, and it was really interesting. So I thought I'd ask the more mature people on here what would you do if you were 22 years old again? Would you change anything, wish you had done something etc?

Dear friends of Yahoo! Answers.
Can you create an answer, be it by research or by imagination, that creates links to the ancient history way before the Homo Sapiens era?

Was religion really a divine hand of light from the Omnipotent being that reaches down to Its creation as the path of life (Jewish, Christianity, Islam, Hindu, Buddha etc.)or was it a Grand Master Scheme on humans created by the Reptilians? (lookup David Icke at a web-search)
Or is religion maybe a very strong pigment of a whole accumulated imagination spawned throughout the history of mankind?Being as one species, we feel, think and act the same in the basic human issues, which also creates perception that we agree upon through mankind's evolution.(i.e.human beings are likely has the needs to search a more powerful form of itself, in order to 'blame' or 'take account of' something as a reason or an answer thay can not grasp...thus humans create the vision of an omnipotent being known as God to be held account to

Dont hold back, use your right of free speech whether for or against. Be honest and dont hold back because its not polically correct. Why should we fear retribution if Islam is a peaceful religion.

My opinion is its an evil religion that may or may not have good in it. the only problem is the good doesnt try hard enough to defeat the evil so the mojority of non islamic believers only see the evil. Obviously some of your answers are going to be very offensive to me but you know what, i dont care, i am expressing my right to free speech and so should you.

Also if its so peaceful there will be no answers that call me racist or anti islam because they are words of hate also.

Express your views freely

Many of you brag about being so intellegent as if you are just too smart to believe such foolishment. You need to chill. If you are right and there is no God, then when you die lights out, no big deal. But if you are wrong when you die, you will wish you weren't so intellegent during this life. Those who know Jesus as Lord only want you to know that peace and love that only Jesus can give. There is no need for insults or anger.

Could this verse be figurative and not literal, and that Jesus was referring to what he represented, rather than himself? Maybe love and forgiveness is ' the way, the truth, and the life.' I say this for the sake of non-christians -because even as a christian myself, I find it hard to believe this Jesus was speaking so literally here.

"Good" and "evil" seem to be socially and linguistically defined rather than reality-based.

What is "good" for humans can be "evil" for mosquitoes (RAID!).

What is "evil" for one group of humans is defined as "good" by another group (9-11).

Yet religions continue to put forth "evil" and "sin" as objectively defined concepts (within, of course, their own definitions) and define God as pure "good."

What prevents humans from taking responsibility for our definitions of "good" and "evil"?

What stops us from simply referring to relativistic concepts, such as "more or less helpful" or "more or less harmful"?

I have recently converted to Christianity and I was talking to a friend who also claims to be Christian. However, this Christian friend of mine is 20 years old and she told me she has had sex with at least 6 different men. She has also experimented with lesbianism. And yet she continues to go to church every Sunday with me.

I told her to take her religion more seriously and to read the bible more like I do. But she told me that I was a "religious fanatic" and then she told me to "get a life." She said it's unhealthy when people take religion too seriously.

Is there anything unhealthy or potentially damaging about being fanatical about your religion? Fanatical means you are obsessed. Wouldn't obsession with God be better than apathy, which would anger God and also be hypocritical?
